New York Times article on Jameis Winston

Just because someone wasnt charged, doesn't mean they are innocent.

Quote:What's sad is people like badger and other Gator fans out there are hoping a girl did get raped so the hammer can come down on FSU.

Quote:the original incident was as well covered up and as dirty as it comes. there is maybe 1% doubt in my mind that jameis raped that girl. and it looks like he is a repeat offender, based on new things coming to light. that kind of thing ruins lives. and he may have got away with it because he is a big time college player. but it will catch up with him eventually.

Based on what?

Hard to put together much of a case when you've got evidence not being collected by a corrupt police department and later being destroyed.  Hey listen, if you can sleep soundly at night, good for you.  Thats just the type of person you are.  Nothing wrong with that.  Everybody is different.

Don't act like you wouldn't have great joy in finding out he did rape her and that the FSU football program was going to be severely punished. You are hoping for this so bad to soften the blow of your 4-8 season.

So you take the side of a girl who changed her story multiple times? Makes sense.

I think its plainly obvious the school and seminole fan police did its best to delay any further investigation until after the season.

For me, based on this article.  Before I read this, I ddint think he did it.  I thought it was consensual...but I didnt hear about her side of the story.

When you take into account the investigation, her version of the guy telling him to stop...and then moving into the bathroom.  It gets shady to me.

You never gave her side a chance.

I dont need to hear anymore to know that this guy has problems and is definitely not the kind of guy I would root for.

Again, whatever makes you feel better. Im the bad guy in all this, right? Blame fans of other teams because they are just out to get us.

logic, gut feeling. her testimony. just like the other poster said. just because you dont get charged or convicted doesnt = innocence. there are dozens of crimes i have committed.... (not necessarily proud of that) that i have gotten away with, not charged, not convicted. certainly did it.

I wonder if the Tallahassee police department got a championship ring.

Well in her story she was drugged. It seems probable that memories could come back in pieces.

Yet toxicology reports show nothing in her system at the time...

This sounds like a case of she was embarrassed and found a way to make some money out of the deal or at least not have a certain video tape put out there. I lived in Tallahassee to go to school for a few years going to FAMU a few years ago and had friends from high school who went to FSU and played on the team. Couldn't tell how many times I have heard stories of accusations because something got "caught" on tape and that was an individuals way out of it. Maybe it happened maybe it didn't. Just from the whole look of things it just does not seem right.

"Buyer's Remorse" sounds to be the correct term.

Before reading this, I didnt know that a video existed of the "encounter".  How in the world could a police department not even attempt to get that video?  Either they are completely incompetent or completely corrupt.

It is sad we live in a world where this type of stuff happens but what is more heinous to me is to play on the stigma and use that as ammunition to attack an individual. No one is even considering the possibility that this guy was wrongfully accused smh

And the article gives a patently false statement when it says she was drugged. Doesn't that make you question the intention of this report?

If he did it then I would want him to go to jail just like any other sick person who would rape someone. That's about as bad as it gets. But I'm not going to pretend to know what happened. Those who don't care if Jameis did it because they just want to win football games are just as bad as posters like badger who keeps saying Jameis is a rapists and does so because he is a florida fan. Honestly both sides are sick in their thought process.

I wasn't there. It's he said she said and none of us know what happened.

Yes, blame me. This all my fault.
