It's hard to believe LeBron turns 30 in December and that he's been in the league for 10 years already.  He still seems like a kid.  I tend to think while he'll still be great for a few more years, there's a good chance he'll fade quicker than other great players due to his size and style of play.  I think gravity will catch up to him quickly.  Guys like Jordan and Kobe had long careers because they were physically smaller.  I think LeBron's knees will give out quicker and he'll lose his explosiveness much quicker than MJ and Kobe.  He'll have to alter his game and use more post-up moves and work more inside using his size.

 

For what it's worth, here are some career state for MJ and LeBron:

This might be a huge reason why.  LeBron is DOMINANT against the current NBA, and I think an overall lesser "superstar" atmosphere in the league is a huge reason why he appears so.  I mean, who are the best guys James plays against?  Durant and Westbrook?  The NBA seems much more to be owned by balanced teams than it does by superstars these days.  Hell, LeBron even has Wade and Bosh on his own team helping him out.

 

By contrast, Jordan had to play against Barkley, Ewing, Magic, David Robinson (and Tim Duncan for a bit), Karl Malone/John Stockton (MAN were those some good games), ect.  Yeah, he had Pippen and Rodman with him, but the guy would just take over games like no other.  I don't see that quality in LeBron, but maybe that's just me.

 

He's less of a ball hog than Kobe at this point in his career (I doubt he'll ever even have the CHANCE to put up 80 in a game like Bryant did), but I think in their primes, Kobe might be a better player, too.  Let's see how he does entering the back half of his career.
