Just wanted to post some articles on Murray's workout. Although a huge dogs fan. Not sure I am sold on him as an NFL QB.
Feel free to discuss.
Signature goes here.
I think he is the real sleeper of this draft. Either nobody is talking about him or if they are they're slamming him into the ground.
Titansequaltrash aka my mini me. Follows me around like a cute puppy dog.

I like his arm , leadership and mobility i just see alot of the Henne esque decision making. He will get hot and then not read the underneath coverages and throw easy picks when trying to force the ball in the mid/deep range. THis was shown on one of the links on his draftbreakdown page. He's one of those players who needs to check his composure when hes actually doing good but wont fold under bad pressure or if he makes a mistake. Garrard would do this badly leading to the Dr.Jekyll / Mr.Hyde references. Make 2-3 great throws to pick apart the defense on good presnap reads and then get all giddy and throw right into double coverage on a route that wouldnt have even gotten a first down against a defense he had probably already beaten on a good read earlier.
If he can be coached to not get ahead of himself and remain poised when he's doing good he can be a sleeper.
I would not mind him as a second QB taken by the Jags, and let him develop in the 3rd QB role for now.

Grab a QB in the first or second and then pair them with Murray and see what happens. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Ninja explained it very well. Murray is dr. jekyll/mr. hyde indeed. A lot of Andy Dalton in him. When things are going good he is competent and will even confuse people into thinking he is a franchise QB. Unfortunately, when he is forced to get uncomfortable he doesn't handle it well at all. His field vision completely disappears and he makes some extremely bad reads/throws that make you wonder what the heck he was thinking or seeing when he threw the ball.
I think he is the perfect definition of QB purgatory. If he winds up on a good team with a good supporting cast he will probably be able to not screw things up too badly and probably even be able to 'lead' that team to the playoffs. Just like Dalton, however, it is fools gold. If you will be happy with a lot of one and done's in the playoffs (and that is if you have a very good supporting cast to begin with) then Murray is your guy. To me the ideal outcome if the Jags took him would be to hope to 'develop' him and hope he shows well in limited preseason/low leverage regular season games a year or two down the road, then try to trade him for a profit before his purgatorial traits show too much. Much like what the Redskins could have done with Cousins before they exposed him too much and killed his perceived value. Quote:Ninja explained it very well. Murray is dr. jekyll/mr. hyde indeed. Dalton is a better comparison. Murray has a better arm and better as a pocket passer. Only thing I'd give Ponder is his mobility. We show less advertisements to registered users. I dont think Dalton is a QB that only fits in a west coast offense, Ponder and Murray are which is my comparison

"qb purgatory" = bigfoot
Fear fueled mythology. Murray would be a great developmental prospect in the middle rounds.

Everything is purgatory with you! You have 100% no idea how he will look in 2 years, so please give up this high and mighty act. |
