New York Times article on Jameis Winston

Sure that should be taken into account if true. I was playing devils advocate. That sentiment didn't seem to be accepted as it could be the case.

2. The girl was a well known sorority skank who chased athletes. Why would Jameis need to rape her?

The complete and utter lack of value you with which you view another human being in this comment is outright disgusting.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

Rape is a crime of violence, not a crime of passion.  Convicted rapists in interviews tend to say things like, "She was a skank.  You can't tell me she didn't want it," "She was asking for it," "Why would she dress that way if she didn't want me to?", ect.

They have issues that they act out aggressively on people they view as disposable.  Just because a woman is "loose" does not mean that everybody has free access to her with or without her consent.

But hey, she's just some whore trying to make a buck off of a famous dude.  Hoes be trippin', amirite?

I have no idea whether Winston raped this woman or not, but frankly, the attitude you express in the above is horrifying.

Quote:Is he a free man? Yup.. That said, the sexual act that took place, if she was being forced to perform that sexual act, Jameis Winston would be missing a vital piece that would consider him a male.

I guess someone who is openly a "Cleat Chaser", is extremely credible and would NEVER try to exploit a star athelete..

He was nowhere near a star when this happened.

Quote:Cool, I'll just go get my raping shoes on and go and find some skanks in short skirts. They basically deserve it right? If they have ever done it with an athlete, hell I might as well call the neighborhood round for a go.

Having daughters has everything to do with it because if this is your attitude to women, then frankly its vile. Benefit of the doubt has nothing to do with it. She is a human being, she said she was raped, that means the police investigate. They don't ignore it because she isn't the virgin Mary and he is Jameis Winston. I don't care if she is a crack addict with 14 kids. I don't care if she has been with every athlete and frat boy on campus. Rape is 1 step behind murder and to suggest we ignore and dismiss her because rumor has it she isn't a sweet little virgin is frankly disgusting.

Again, how do you know she was raped? Where you there and did you participate?

Based on what I've read, you can make an educated guess either way.....but for some, school allegiance completely blinds it.

Women can be just as devious and awful as some men in this country. They can commit crimes, they can lie, cheat, steal and sometimes, even in some instances, rape other individuals themselves.. So I don't look at a case like this which has no evidence of rape, as a man vs. woman case. I look at it as an individual vs. an individual.. So if you want to go on believing that all women are innocent simply because of their gender, you're in for a really rough life pal.. You'll be taken advantage of quick.. You're nothing but bait..

So again, this has NOTHING to do with having daughters.. Because your little princess can be a criminal too..

Man alive, I hope you didn't graduate from FSU with these comprehension skills. Learn to read!

When a person makes an accusation of rape, I want the police to investigate properly, that way we actually have a chance to find the truth.

Do you need me to use smaller words or something?

To this day, assuming she is a liar and had consenual sex, I've yet to hear a good explanation as to why she told the cops initially she didnt recognize the individual.  And went back a month telling that she did discover who it was.  Assuming it was consensual, she knew she was having sex with Winston or she was having sex with some guy she didnt know.

It doesnt make any sense to me for her to report this as a rape if it was consenual sex with a stranger.  What would be the motivation?  To ruin the life of some guy she didnt even know?

If it was consenual yet she felt the need to report it as rape, I have to think she knew who he was.  And If she knew it was Winston, why tell the cops initially she didnt know who it was?  I've heard she was doing this for attention or to get back at him or money... etc...  Did she go to the cops with the intention of getting back at him and then changed her mind while she was there but still decided to go through with the report?  Was this an attempt to blackmail him because she was angry about something?  That would only work if she had told him afterwards what she did as some kind of threat but no news of that has come out.

It just makes more sense logically if this was some malicious plan for her to identify him immediately.  But she didnt.  She said she didnt know who it was.  But only later went back and identified him after seeing him around school.

None of that has anything to do with how TPD and FSU handled the case.

Serious issues? No.. But have I had issues? Definitely.. And any male who has had them, will tell you the same.. Now I'm not saying the police did their job correctly and in an efficient manner, that's another story.. The issue at had for you and I is that if women can be devious enough to exploit..

Who said a woman can't be devious enough to exploit or lie?

rfc makes a good point about why she didn't identify him more quickly, and only did it when she recognized him in a class she had with him.  If she was going to exploit the great Jameis, why didnt she say his name that night?

People are assuming too much here....why do I think school allegiance has a lot to do with it?

Of course, "assuming" being the key word that prompted this thread.. Maybe you're right.. People assume way too much and are too quick to convict without evidence..

By the looks of it, the Tallhassee PD assumed WAY too much and decided not to investigate to find out conclusively either way.
