Maybe, maybe not, I think a more pertinant question would be will Jockel and [inert RT name here] be a better OT tandem than Monroe and Jockel? I have my doubts.

Luke was struggling at RT.  It all depends if he can be better then Monroe at LT.  If he is then yes, I think Luke plus insert name is a better tandem then Eugene/Luke.  If he isn't, then the answer is no.  It all depends on Luke.

I think it is better to judge him at his natural position.  Lets see how he does from this point on.  Also, didn't Alualu get 16 games during his rookie year to be judged?  Again, you seem to take 4 games and turn them into 16 predicting things that are completely unpredictable.

 

We'll see this week if moving to LT makes a significant positive change in Joeckel.


 

Alualu had a 'wow' play in his FIRST game. It didn't take 16 games, or even 4. And come to think about it, Alualu wasn't in his natural position either. He was a DE in college. Leftwich's first pass as a Jag was a 'wow' play. Matt Jones had at least one 'wow' play in his rookie preseason. OTOH, Reggie Williams and Derrick Harvey didn't have a single 'wow' play in 20 games as rookies.


 

Once again, I don't claim to have watched Joeckel anywhere close to every play. If you know of a single 'wow' play, please post it.

I don't really care if he has had 1 wow play in 4 games. What I care about is him being a great LT. It is his rookie year. Alualu had 1 wow play, great, he still isn't very good. We can judge Lukes rookie year on the next 12 games. This week will be the first playing his natural position. We will see how he does.

People are forgetting the cap part of the Monroe trade. I think they should have traded him before the season but still. He was going to command a high salary and most likely would have walked.
