If both picks are hits, we are doomed.

I think Clowney to Houston is a layup.

While I think Bridgewater will slide out of the top 10, I would be surprised if he gets to round two.

I am trying my best to somehow think of a way Houston does not take Clowney.

It's getting tougher to do, though McClain from the Houston Chronicle gave me some hope when on 1010XL today.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

He wouldn't make it past Arizona.

Hard for me to remember every detail because I had some distractions but from what I can recall it hinged on three things

1.  Concern regarding Clowney's work ethic.  McClain was saying the Texans don't need to work him out again and don't need to see any tape on him, but they need to know what his work ethic is...and how will he react when double teamed and faced with other blocking schemes.

2.  Clowney's improper fit for the 3-4.  Clowney is a DE, but is not a 3-4 DE.

3.  The Texans need for a QB.

McClain was saying McNair is probably the most patient owner outside of Paul Brown, and the tickets are being sold, so there really isn't any pressing need for an "immediate impact" sort of player.  Besides, the defense was ranked 7th last year and wasn't the problem.  He said if there is any owner willing to do what is in the long term best interest, it would be McNair.

Now if anyone here heard the interview and remembered more clearly or accurately than I, please feel free to correct any inaccuracies or misrepresentations I may have inadvertently made.  They should have it up for replay soon.

Thanks I would be happy with that, but if he has Teddy falling that far, if I was jax I would trade up to 30 -32 and grab Teddy before the 2nd round

I love how a bad pro day has everyone dropping Bridgewater to the second round. He might, might slide out of the top 10, but there's no way he slides out of the first round. If Houston does take Clowney, someone would jump up to the 30 range to get him before Houston grabs him in the second.

Not really a surprise, they have the first pick, take the best player, and get a qb in the 2nd.

you should of seen the way Geno fell in the draft last year and he had a good pro day.

Your problem is you assume to have some knowledge of where NFL professionals have him ranked.

We don't know, we didn't know prior to his pro day, we don't know now.

Maybe he was never a top 10 talent in the eyes of evaluators much the way Geno was last year.

Maybe he was and still is a top 10 talent in the eyes of evaluators and he'll be drafted much higher than the talking heads are thinking.

People like to point out Geno falling last year, but ever QB fell last year, outside of EJ getting over drafted, Matt Barkley going into the year was a top 10 pick and he went in the 4th round. Last year people claimed Ryan Nassib was a late riser like Ryan Tannehill and some mocks had him going in the top 10, he didnt go til the 4th round.

At the end of the day the nobody knows how its gonna play out.

Jag's DBs should be getting plenty of ints from Bridgewaters weak armed passes.

On 1010 today they had a reporter for the Houston Chronicle on that didn't seem to think it was slam dunk.  He said that if they drafted Clowney they'd have to essentially bench Mercilus who they like.

Huh
