Yup.  They were considered state of the art at the time.  They never quite worked right.

After more digging I found it.  The colored small one is our old board and the new ones are all the way at the top.

I did the Corporate 5K run this evening and it started at Metropolitan Park.  The steel spans looks bigger in person.  They're huge!

Well kind of. They set up a beer trailer with four (four!) taps on each side. Then they said only people who complete the run get free beer. All I know is that business casual wear starts becoming uncomfortable around the two mile mark.

Yeah, the perspective you get on the ground there is drastically different from what we're treated to on the web cam.  The thing is huge.  We took a ride down there last week just to get a look since the section they've torn out on the north side is 15 rows above our seats, so we wanted to see the extent of the demolition.  It's pretty amazing what they've taken out on the north side, but the structures in the south end zone are just huge, and when the board is completed, it will almost fully enclose that end of the stadium.  With the upgrades to the sound, I would imagine things are going to be a lot louder moving forward.

Running is pretty good.  I topped out at a half marathon....anything beyond that is a bit much for me.

I doubt the new scoreboard is going to provide much more relief than the old one did since the sun is normally broiling directly over the stadium for the day games.  Both end zones get more shade from the sides of the stadium than from the end zones.

Was going back through the transformation and found this from around 3pm March 1st. Not sure how the suns position would correlate with October but, could be shady! One could hope anyway lol
