apologies if it seems that way Mr Shack. Don't mean for it to come across that way. You're one of my top 5 favorites posters on these boards. serious. Pretty much everything I write I do so with a smirk. I'm just having fun.

my posts come across like

But they're really more like

[Image: 595759159bf5f2b054469693547d781f-grumpy-cat-smiles.jpg]

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

apologies. didn't mean to sound mean or doushebaggy or anything. And looking back now I probably kind of did.

I'll try to keep my discussions from here on out above-board and more high brow

Quote:Tebow was hyped more for his off the field antics(his christianity, his extremely likable personality, the fact that he was the hometown kid).

To the contrary, the only 'hype' Manziel has and is getting is strictly for his on the field play.

IMO, Manziel is the most anti-Tebow prospect I've ever seen. He has so few redeeming qualities 'off the field', that you know he must be one hell of a player on the field, for people in Jacksonville and around the nation to want him so bad on their team.
Have you forgotten all the Tebow rallying cries, "All he does is win", He's just a great football player", "He's a natural leader"?

Look at the quotes at the beginning of this thread, it's the same rhetoric all over again; leadership, desire to be the best, driven to succeed, something special, blah, blah, blah.  It's just a love affair, nothing about specific football skills.

I do agree with you about all the off-the -field issues.

PS  If I hear him called "Johnny Football" once more I'm gonna puke.  Sick

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Weauxfing is easy to lets slide.  After all it's just talk.

What I can't stand, are those who shrink in debate when challenged with the facts, then go on continuing to ignore them.  I don't see that as much with the Manziel crowd as another.  The Manziel guys just keep on weauxfing, because the guy they back excites the fan in them.  They aren't bitter about his chances in the draft or what people say about him, they're excited for draft day.  Obnoxious?  Absolutely, but in fun.  Not in an unnecessarily combative get on-board or get out kind of way.

Succeed or fail, something tells me the ride will be more fun than miserable regardless of the outcome.  He's a guy who's easy to root for unlike some of the QBs we've had in the past.

Scooby doo does in fact read defenses about as well
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

I'd say Manziel is more Scrappy than Scooby. Small, mouthy, thinks he can whoop everyone he goes against. Probably won't be able to back it up.

Yep, Scrappy Doo.

I think he'd need Shaggy and a quarter ounce for that to be most accurate.

So now we have to decide between:

Scooby Manziel

Scrappy Manziel

and Shaggy Manziel w/ quarter ounce

I would be ok with Manziel actually, even at 3. But damn if these kids posting pictures of him in every thread aren't annoying as crap.
