Especially considering the fact that when we get our qb next year, it'll be beneficial to his development to have 2 good tackles protecting him, especially with the questionable state of the rest of the line. Now we have a single good player on the line and the rest is garbage, and something tells me that 4th and 5th round pick isn't going to help too much in that aspect.

What for?  We are not going to pay a RT LT money that other teams will offer.  They got what they could, it was smart.  They view Joeckel as a better talent.  Give them the offseason coming up, i guarantee we'll look a whole lot better.

 

And as far as 3rd day picks, i see quite a bit of promise for the future.

He said that they were failed #1 picks and cited Monroe's abysmal play in Jax this season as the evidence.....weak/ lazy eval by Polian, when you consider that part of the factor to Monroe's playing bad in Jax this year is adjusting or non-so to the new zone blocking system. 

 

Any way you slice it, it was mis-management by Caldwell. It just shows that Monroe should have been dealt last offseason probably on draft weekend to get absolute max value as that was when his rep was at its highest.

The only thing Khan has done that I really disliked the whole time he was here was pushing for a Tebow trade, if he wants to be GM and owner, fine, but dont hire a guy and then do that.

Pass blocking is actually Nwaneri's strength although he'll hold his own in the run game. As for Rackley, he's by no means the 2nd worst LG in the game. I'm not saying he's all world, but come on now. Certainly the OL can use some work, but don't sell them short.

Monroe played well against the Steelers.  I'm thinking his sluggish lazy ways were get a part of the losing culture he's been subject to in Jacksonville.  Sometimes it takes going to an intense environment where losing isn't an option to get the blood flowing once again.  No team in the Northeast Corridor (Washington, Philly, NYG, NYJ, New England, Pittsburgh) is content with a good effort if it doesn't come with a W.
