Is this a case of the media falsely inflating a QB's draft stock or is the media just now catching on to this year's best kept QB secret?

Feel like he has pretty good upside, but he may be rising a little quick.

Elite arm.  Probably the best arm in the draft and would be top 10 overall arm in the NFL.  He can light up a workout.  Terrible quarterback.

He shouldn't be going higher than Logan Thomas, not by a long stretch. And that's not saying I like Logan because I don't.

IMO, the dramatic rise and falls only happen in the media.

Guys like Savage understandably get high marks for their measurables.  The more checks marked off the "ideal" checklist, the more interest you'll have.

I saw him play and he just doesnt look very good, he is the classic size, arm strength, hype type player, I wouldnt touch him until the 5th round

Yea I would take Logan Thomas over him and I dont like Thomas as a QB, at least Thomas can move to TE if it doesn work at QB, this guy will be out the NFL in 3 years

Somebody will take him by the 4th round.  Maybe the Jags if we don't have a QB by then.

The thing I like about Savage is that lack of talent around him, esp to try and compete in the ACC this past season. His O-line was atrocious and he was sacked 43 times this year (15 of which came in back to back games Vs Virginia and then Virginia Tech)

For his first season in that offense and to put up 2958 yards, 21 TDs, and 9 INTs behind that O-line is pretty impressive IMO. He is not a perfect prospect, but he has the measurables, pocket poise, excellent arm strength, and for the most part makes good decisions and throws with accuracy and timing (6 of his INTs came in his first 4 games).

As I mentioned in another thread he reminds me a Jay Cutler when he was coming out.

my boy Savage!  I'm not surprised at all he is moving up.  When I first saw those clips of him it was apparent he has the physical traits you want in a starting NFL QB... traits the big 3 QBs in this draft dont really have.

Saying that though I think its crazy to draft him late 1st or even 2nd.  Especially in a deep draft like this.  You are giving up what should be a starter in order to draft a project in Savage.  3rd round at a minimum is as high as he should go.

Savage looks pretty decent.. Wouldn't mind spending a late round pick on him if he's still available..

I heard he declined an NFL invitation to be at the draft May8-10.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

He was at Arizona for one year when Frank Scelfo was an assistant. I wonder what Scelfo thinks of him. I have to think that he at least has Caldwell's ear a little on these quarterbacks.

I don't blame him for declining the invite. He could go 3rd round.....could go 7th. I think he has a ton of potential. My favorite developmental / later round QB by far.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Yeah, I'm not quite sure why he'd get an invite to begin with.  Does the NFL just need someone to sit in the green room they can humiliate when he's still sitting in there on day 3?

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
