Shorts is a solid #2 who was forced into a #1 role because of Blackmon's issues.

He can and will thrive when this team finds some level of stability at the #1 spot.

I would only like to say that i said something about shorts not playing very well despite the numbers . I showed in a post during the season how even in some of his "big" games like against Seattle he was only putting up garbage time numbers.

During the first half of alot of games Shorts would post next to nothing and then explode in the 3rd/4th when we were getting blown out already.

I'd say Shorts' main contribution this past season was the winning catch in the Cleveland game. That was huge no matter who you are. He beat one of the best CB in the league like a rented mule on that play.

But other than that, he really didn't do all that much that mattered.

This was not exclusive to Shorts.  Our entire offense was padding the stats in garbage time.

Yes, this is true as well. Henne as bad as he is/ was also stat padded, which is scary to think about....

Shorts really hung Gabbert out to dry repeatedly in 2013, and he's not as good as he appeared to be at points in 2012. I'm not worried so much about when he got his stats, though. It's hard to get stats when you have a guy like Henne throwing to you who can only make a decent throw when he has no chance of winning the game.

Hence the "entire offense" comment in my post.  Shorts wasn't the only one to benefit from padding stats in games where there was no doubt about the outcome.

No, I'd say they're close enough in their terribleness for it not to be worth my time trying to figure out their difference.

What does that have to do with Shorts batting balls up to be intercepted?

Shorts didn't do Gabbert any favors with his gaffes, but it's hard to put Blaine's ineptitude on Shorts.  The issues Gabbert had here went way beyond dropped or batted passes.  Those hurt, but they aren't the reason he's in SF now.

Just seemed like you were making an excuse for Gabbert... "Shorts left Gabbert out to dry..."

Deep down... You still wish Gabbert was the QB for this team don't you?

Only if he's actually a fan of one of the other teams in our division.

This is a thread about Shorts. He didn't have a great season. He caused several INTs. Just speaking the truth, he wasn't a difference maker in a positive way this year.

Were there ANY positive difference makers on the offense this past season?
