Quote:Honest question.

How can so many believe that Texans will take a QB at #1, but then Jaguars can't take a QB at #3, because that "will be too high to take any QB in this draft"?  I can't figure it out.

I've seen some very intelligent posters on these boards do mocks, have us passing on MAnziel, Bridgewater, ect at 3, and then have the Browns just one spot below us take Manziel, and then have the Vikings just another 2 or 3 spots down take Teddy. huh?!

IMO, the Jaguars are the most QB needy team of them all. If #1 is not too high for a QB to the Texans, #4 is not too high for a QB to the Browns, etc, etc, why is #3 considered "too high" for a QB to us?

Just trying to understand some of the logic and reasoning on these boards.

I think I agree with you.

It seems the Quarterbacks are getting far more flack than the other players. How would players like Mack and Watkins stand up to the same scrutiny ? I appreciate the extra scrutiny probably comes with the territory for QBs. But I don't believe players like Bridgewater and Manziel are as bad as some critics would have you believe.

But at this stage of the process with journalists scrambling around to say something new and surprising and GMs trying to put up smokescreen a, who really knows !

Oh and to answer the question

Manziel at three.

I'd go with Manziel. That's just me though. Nothing to do with hype, just from what I've seen and what our team is doing.

Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

I don't either, thats why I say Teddy will not fall out of the top 10

Just for fun, I talked to 5 twitter friends of mine...2 Texans, 2 Vikings, and a Raiders. Guess what they all said (except one Texans dude). Pass on QB in the top 10 and trade up into the 1st to get one that falls. So now you have 3 or 4 franchises trying to jump the Browns at 26.

You all thinking oh just trade back up into the first ezpz as if it's gonna be that simple is silly.

Teddy Bridgewater or A.J. McCarron.  Would have liked both to have scored higher on their Wonderlic though.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

trade back into the late 2nd for Fales/Logan, if we decide to pass on Teddy at 3.

If your Twitter friends aren't the GM's of said teams.....does it really matter what they say?

If I'm in love with one of the qbs after that, I'd try to trade up above #26. I'd be surprised if Oakland, Minnesota, and Cleveland (in that order) don't take 3 of the top qbs in round 1. But I'm content to wait til #39 and take McCarron, Mettenberger, or Garrapolo. If there's a WR or OL available there that I have rated higher, I'd take him there. Then I'd wait til round three where I think I can still get McCarron, Mettenberger, or Murray. I'm not picking Bridgewater until at least round 4. He's the least good of the top eight.
This is funny..

I think Caldwell will try to move up and take Bridgewater somewhere at the end of round 1. I would like to see this happen if the Jags don't have to give up the farm. Would they take our 2nd, one of our 4th's and a 2nd or 3rd next year? That would seem fair if Caldwell feels he can be the franchise q.b. of the future.

Like I was hinting at earlier, it just won't be nearly that simple. There will probably be many other teams with those same thoughts and all of their 2nd rounders are earlier than ours.

Both of them will be available at our 3rd round pick easily.

Gonna be some people shocked at how high Logan Thomas goes apparently. Long gone by our 4th round pick IMO...very possibly (probably) gone before our 3rd rounder even.
