Would Khalil Mack in the top 5 feel like a "Gene Smith type of pick"?

I tried to get the stuff from the Combine, but what you have is as good as any. Thanks for looking that up!

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Quote:If you are okay with Pazstor blocking for you after a Texans selection of Clowney, then one would almost have to have believed that Pazstor is the next Searcy level talent, otherwise you'd be going into a gunfight with a pen knife.

Its not making things up, its simple deduction.

Lol, if you have a servicable player to play right tackle and have other glaring needs (did you see our linebackers last year, and we just lost a guy that would have been a solid back up) you can wait on another right tackle.

There is no deduction.  You simply have it in your head that we should take Matthews and will come up with anything to support your arguement.

Reasonable people can disagree over Mack's abilities.

But accusing someone of manipulating heights and weights?!?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I'd rather adjust my blocking with a RB or FB one to one side and get creative 2x/year and get by with Pasztor, than having Matthews picked at #3.

We don't need to draft a tackle, it would be [BLEEP] if we did actually.

You know how us Licensed Engineers are; always playing with the hard data so that we can put up a Hyatt Regency walkway.

Serviceable player is fine for blocking serviceable pass rushers. If the Texans take Clowney, the Jags would be smart to negate that ASAP. Matthews would provide that. The Jags rebuild/ or build isn't going to end this year, and they already addressed pass rushers in the free agency this year, so they can wait on that one year (at the top of the draft) if they have to. Matthews falling to them after a Clowney pick by Houston would be the right move. The only other selections that would be acceptable at that point would be one of the QB.

"There is no deduction"....lol, what a clown. No, YOU have it in YOUR head that you want Mack at all costs, like a petulant child, and are essentially kicking and screaming throwing a tantrum metaphorically to try and get your way.

TMD is an embarrassment. also predictable.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I see the light, trade up to #1 to get Matthews!

You really are setting up Caldwell for your hate speak.  Which racist names can you come up for him since he's a white GM?

What in the what??!   Laughing

If the Texans don't take Clowney, then the Jags may get him. No one is saying to select Matthews over Clowney with both being available at the pick.

Caldwell is balding, so I am sure he can work that in there.

And he has never shied away from using the word "[BLEEP]", so why stop now?

Come on Bon Jagley, he can be way more creative and derogatory than that!

Gene Smith would take Dee Ford at three, then talk about how Dee was his guy and he knew that Ford would have been gone by the time the Jaguars picked in the second round.

Lets add, he also would have sold the fans on Dee Ford at the fan interactions.

That guy had me pretty pumped for those talks.  He even sold me on Guy Whimper for a 4 hour period!

I was completely shocked that a non Teddy/Manziel thread got this many pages in one day...then I saw it was just TMD doing his normal bloviating over a prospect that I guarantee he still hasn't put an ounce of effort watching to give an honest opinion.

I said like a month ago the comps to Ware and Von Miller were not a stretch and posted the combine numbers for all 3 (from the exact same site so no picking and choosing as he accused earlier in this thread) and it showed they were all extremely similar physical comps...and Mack even had the better explosive (10 yard split, vertical, and broad jumps) measurements of the 3.

In Kipers most recent top 100, he has Mack as the #3 prospect and Teddy as the #16. So getting Teddy would be better value than Mack TMD???

Ware wasn't picked until then, and was a better pass rusher.

And, I also said I could be okay with a Mack pick by the Jags after a trade down. So if they swap with Atlanta and then take him at 6 that will at least give them some added value of draft choices despite picking Mack above 10.

Since when do I value Kiper's input?

I'd say that Gosselin and Mayock are among the better ones, and even they get some wrong.
