Also for 99.9% of the responses when I bashed - I bashed the post, not the postER. and in 100% of the cases they were responses to insults aimed my way, not me firing the first shot.

I am very strong willed. I know people like to debate with my opinions. Thats actually fine with me. Call my posts/ opinions dumb all they want.... That don't bother me. 

 

But so many on here don't know how to just keep the insults to the posts that I write and not aim it at the poster. You claim that "everyone else is an idiot" but where do I actually "say"  that or directly call people idiots unless it is a response? Very rare. I don't think I do it at all anymore. 

 

 

Its really not hard to stick to aiming it at the post/ opinion.

I guess I look at that different because its not an unabated direct insult to one specific poster. Thats one thing I have taken OUT of the repitiore because its just bad ettiquette. I viewed the above as more of a generalization. But You might have a point there. I'll work on that.

A LB is not a premium position in the NFL. Now some may argue that a RT is not either (as a OLT is) , but I can also counter argue that with the NFL becoming more pass happy with all the new rules favoring passing, that even RT's are becoming more valuable than before.

TMD you do realize that Houston is switching to the famous Romeo Crennel 3-4 two gap system right? They going to be playing JJ Watt as a 3 tech and most of the time have Clowney as a OLB, probably on Watt's side. It won't often be Clowney LDE Watt RDE, and even if it is at times they'll be lining up inside of the OTs anyway. 

 

You are suggesting we take a second top 3 OT in a row to counter one specific team that will be aligning in a way that Joeckel vs. Clowney and Matthews vs. Watt will rarely happen.

Well, I said it as the Texans being the main threat, but also will cite my response with more passing you need better Tackles.

 

Also, has O Brien come out and said that he will defer to Crennel to run his defense independent of any meddling? If you recall, when Capers came to Jacksonville - he too was famous for running a defense that ultimately was a bit different than the one he wound up installing as a hybrid. That could be the case in Houston as well.

The analysts like Mack at 3, but I'm not so sure.  I'd much rather trade down than take any option other than Clowney at this point. I'd rather have Mack than Matthews for what it's worth. Though I'm starting to warm up to the idea that so many have of drafting Watkins (though I'm not sure a WR is worth it in this deep of a class)  I think this is a talented enough class, where trading down can still net you a highly talented player.  

 

If we don't or can't trade down, then that's unfortunate, but it's bound to happen.  You can't force a team to trade.  But I think a lot of people are selling themselves on who we're likely to pick, just as TMD sometimes sells himself against players we're likely to pick.  

 

That said, I don't think it'd be a Gene Smith move.  A Gene Smith move would be to trade up to #1, then take Mack over Clowney. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.  (And sometimes a Nut finds a good player)  He did pick Eugene Monroe.

Yes, they didn't hire an offensive coordinator because BoB is going to be HC/OC. He is completely hands off of the defense, as he was at Penn St. too. Who knows if that will continue if they start out terribly, but I think it will. BoB has never wanted anything to do with defense ever.

I guess you could stretch it in that direction as DE, namely RDE is generally seen as a premium position, but it would have to be a LB that projects to be an elite pass rusher, and I am not sure that Mack does.  LOts of doubt with the size, level of competition....et al. Just because Ware was one guy to do it doesn't mean Mack will. I think too many people are assuming Mack makes this jump like Ware did.
