If Caldwell asked you to pick the first quarterback we draft...

I am leaning to this, but I like Mettenberger in the 4th.  He'd have a lot of pieces around him to help him learn the role.

I don't think Mettenberger slides past the end of round two, certainly not to the fourth round.

Start talking up his troubles at UGA and let's see if we can force him into round 4.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

With every pick, I would take the best available player at a position of need.    Then, when I got to the third round, if I didn't have a quarterback yet, I would try to force one at that point, meaning if I would relax the rule (a little) of taking the best available player at a position of need.

You have to ask yourself, if you got to pick 39, and you don't have a QB yet, but Odell Beckham is still on the board, would you really pass over Odell Beckham for a second-round quarterback?   I couldn't.

How about if you got to the third round, and you hadn't picked a QB yet, but the best offensive guard in the draft is somehow still on the board, would you bypass that guy just to reach for a QB?   I couldn't do that either.

So draft players that are good, right?

Quote:Gonna be some people shocked at how high Logan Thomas goes apparently. Long gone by our 4th round pick IMO...very possibly (probably) gone before our 3rd rounder even.

Now that I have actually seen more of his cut ups. I am inclined to agree with you about him.

I get the feeling Carr is a guy they have their eye on. Either via trade down, or in the 2nd round (assuming they don't take one in the first)

But if it was up to me I'd take Bridgewater or Bortles at 3.

I have that same feeling as well.

If I'm taking a qb at #3 (and I'm not), the ONLY one I'd consider would be Johnny Football.  Period.
