Now imagine this with millions of dollars on the line and millions of people watching your every move live on TV.

I, I have no idea what you're talking about. I mean, I was hardly ever the last kid taken and only taken because my big brother was already on the team and my mom told him to make sure that I was included when we played football over at Lee's house hardly ever.

That scenario obviously never happened to me for six to seven years straight.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

As for Carr, just heard that he has personally opted to stay out on the west coast with his family during the draft. Didn't specifically say if he got an invite or not, but apparently he already decided he wasn't going to be there.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

There is no way I'd go if there were a possiblilty that I'd slip to Day 2 -- the entire Geno Smith thing last year was quite embarrassing for him.  Remember Brady Quinn and his g/f ??

It was only embarrassing because he cried like a baby

There's a difference between being picked last in a pick up game and being picked in the nfl draft, a process which will bank you millions regardless. And there's not only 1 round in the draft so there's no "being picked last" thing. My mindset would be to be grateful that I'm even here. There's literally hundreds of college players eligible for the draft and the fact that I'm one of the top ones and being invited to attend the event would be enough for me. Don't get drafted where you want? Go in, work hard, and prove everyone wrong. I think the whole process of a player falling and "being embarrassed" that they dropped is more of a talking point for fans and garbage espn analyzing. But that's just my opinion. We can agree to disagree Smile

Quote:Why wouldn't you go if you get invited? It's a free trip you get to take and you get pampered all day. I wouldn't give two craps where I was projected to get drafted if I got an invite. It's every players dream to get drafted and why not go and when your name is called walk up and go on stage. It's a huge moment for any player. If it were me I'd go and have a good time if I was projected 1st pick or 41st pick.

So you just sit there in the green room, and sit there, and sit there, when you could be at home with your family and friends and refrigerator?   All for a free one day trip to New York?   If I was not going at the top of the first round, when my name was called, I would rather be whooping and hollering with my friends and family than going up there and shaking hands with Roger Goodell.

You're with your friends and family all the time. Plus you can bring a couple with you to NY. Being drafted is a once in a life time thing. I'd go to the draft and then plan a get together with all my family and friends when I get back to celebrate being drafted. That's how I'd do it. But like I said I'm obviously in the minority so I'll just respectfully agree to disagree lol

On last weeks CFB_24/7 podcast Carr mentioned that he had received an invite to NYC but was unsure if he was going to attend. He mentioned he has lots of family and might like to spend draft day with them. Looks like he chose to stay home.

I'm with you. Although with my parents there'd be some interesting shots of us all playing poker/rummy/crazy 8s/kings corners/hearts/spades and not paying attention to the draft. We do the same thing in the restaurants after ordering.

I'm surprised he's going.

They're going to have the Brady Quinn/Geno Smith cam all over him.

Questionable why he's chosen to put himself through that.  Then, he may be that oblivious.

If I wasn't considered by most a top 5 pick, I'd stay home!

I look at Garappolo for example...  The kid is going to be sitting there the entire night probably, making it awkward for himself, his family, and heck - even us, the viewers.  Just stay home, please.
Why not go? Free trip, all expenses paid and you will still get drafted at some point with an on-the-spot interview.

It's completely unfair.  They are going to be cutting to/commenting on between every pick.  Mama ain gonna stan for that.
