That is because most of this line IS ludicrous. 

 

Please, I wish people would stop trying to force feed this suckwad on to the jags.  Yes, he put up good numbers in college, but it is obvious now with his CONTINUED failure to make the transition into the NFL has exposed him.  Most of his numbers are attributed to the supporting cast he had, which was far superior to many if not most of what he came up against.  That's gonna make a guy look better.  But hey, he won a Heisman.  Those Heisman winners NEVER fail to make the transition into the NFL, right?

 

Also,

 

The Broncos made the playoffs in spite of him.  Look at the games he won, not a single one of them was against a winning team until he got lucky and struck gold against Pittsburgh, and then turned into a rotten pumpkin the next week.  All but three of "his wins" came in games where the defense held teams to two scores or less.  Most of them were against bottom feeders in the NFL.  There are a lot of bums around the league who have wins under their belt, including his predecessor in Denver, who only lost 2 or 3 games and won more than 20 (mostly with Chicago) under those circumstances.   People give far too much credit to Tebow for that run, and most of those making the decisions see right through it.  Tebow even has a loss in a game where the opponents scored 7 points, at home, with the playoffs still in doubt, against a team that just fired their coach, and had Kyle Freaking Orton taking snaps for them that day.

 

For the Jags, about the only thing he offers is a little bit of buzz around the team, but more so because people think he's a charming kid.  Sure, the jags will sell some tickets simply because he is on the team, but I couldn't possibly care less about his off-field persona, his brand, or anything else about him when the ball is kicked off on Sundays.  Don't care about the gator fans either, whos loyalty to any team only goes as deep as Tebow's tenure on any given team.  No thanks.

 

I don't like any of the current QBs.  But if we are hellbent on changing things up RIGHT NOW, how about we fart around with a QB that might actually be good?  Cuz he isn't.  How about someone that might actually be better than what is on the roster?  I highly doubt it.  Tebow is in his FOURTH season, and has been weighed, measured, and found wanting.  Take away all the hoopla surrounding the kid, you have another third string caliber QB at best with a sub-50 completion percentage.  Shut down his running lanes, most defenses end up having a pretty good day aside from the odd strike that manages to find a target other than grass or the 10th row.  Nobody wants him even when he is practically free.  Dude might even pay to be on a roster right now.

 

You want more tickets sold, then by all means, make some extra cash this season.  But I think people are seriously mistaken if they think he's actually going to take this team anywhere.  What do we have to lose by signing him?  Not much really.  Don't see any real gains either aside from bringing in a circus, so from a football sense, it's just a waste of time.  He's terrible.  Ready to just limp through the season and start again next year without any drama on whether we should keep Tebow or not.

Most of his good numbers came in the 4th quarter in the last 5 minutes of games after they go into prevent "bend but not break" defenses.  He actually thrives in that.  Makes his overall numbers look like he had a lot better day than he typically had.  Examine the stats for the first 3 1/2 quarters, his completion percentage is down in the 30s.  His scoring is putrid.  The Bronco offense led the league in three and outs that year.  Those kind of numbers got JaMarcus fired and cut even when he was leeching a huge chunk of Oakland's payroll.

 

Just don't see why people think Tebow is any kind of a solution at QB for this team.  Or ANY team's ills.  Next year he will be going into his fifth season.  I think most GMS if not all already has a pretty good idea on his skillset.  THAT is what is sinking his career, no matter how much his fans try to paint this as a case of politics and too much media attention being the root cause.  Think anyone would care about any of that if they thought Tebow was actually good enough to back up even half of the hype?

Yeah, in a way, Tebow is already kinda holding this team hostage in the press.  The top brass of the Jags keep getting asked about some scrub that isn't even on the team.  They're kinda getting Tebow rammed down their throats whether they want him or not.  I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that, especially for a guy who can't pass.

 

Nice to see only about a dozen Tebowkistanis showed up for the rally a couple weeks back.  They all had something better to do?  Or is this just an extremely loud minority?
