Would Khalil Mack in the top 5 feel like a "Gene Smith type of pick"?

You guys are on fire today.

Quote:I've already admitted in the thread that its not an "identical" comparison to a pick like Alualu, but it is a lesser form of a similar concept.

People cite "rankings" of the player which have the player currently around 5 or so, but has Mack been there this whole time? Nope. He pretty much rose late to get him there. Gabbert did the same thing. Ratings mean little unless they show a consistent placing at the top, such as Clowney. The small school concern is real with Mack. Doesn't mean he's destined to fail, but theres a risk. People instead are quick to latch on to Ware as the outlier and automatically assume Mack will be that.
Teddy is dropping very fast in this draft. Should we discredit his fall from grace? If we can't give Mack credit for rising then we have to give Teddy a pass for falling?

Wow.  You are such a fail.  Such a liar as well.  Either a liar or just totally clueless, you pick.

This is all you do, stalk and insult with 1 or 2 liners. You bring nothing to the table of football talk with your posting, ever.

Just like in Lean On Me where the principal rids the school of the worthless students, the powers that be on the board need to get rid of all posters like Tommy that have just about all of their posting history full of nothing but examples of the above type posts.

People may not like me, but at least I bring football talk to the table.

The above post is complete garbage.

Teddy is falling. But examine why he is falling - because of how he played in actual games? Nope. Because of playing catch in pro days, and his frame.

Color me clueless then, because I don't remember Mack being rated that high all this time. He wasn't that high on Scott Wrights Draftcountdown rankings this whole time I know that.

teddy falling also automatically moves mack up one spot. so your man crush of a player is actually contributing to mack being rated higher. isnt that a jagged little pill?

Do you still have Teddy as high as you did about 5 months ago? You used to say we should tank for Teddy because he was that good. Now that he's falling and others are rising, you are changing your tune a little?

I agree that some people on here just spew garbage but to discredit Mack at #3 is just not right. He would be a very good fit for us at #3. Obviously a lot of us want to trade down like you but who knows if we can. If we can't trade down, Mack should and most likely will be the player taken.

well why dont you pull up the archives and see where he had him ranked back in version 1, 2, or even 3, of his mock draft? instead of just saying "i dont recall."

I'm still high on the player. Very high. That hasn't changed. Teddy still isn't falling out of the top 10, IMO. He's not making it past Minnesota.

You really think he'd put any effort into researching something that would prove him wrong?

Tell yourself whatever you need to here.  Bridgewater was slipping prior to his pro day because of his build, and when teams got a look at him in a pro day where it's pretty much as simple a pitch and catch situation as he'll ever face in his career, he showed a lack of preparation.

His slide hasn't stopped despite the fact that several teams have brought him in for private workouts, so it's not just the pro day that is clipping his wings.  Teams are now weeding through the media hype you used to fall in love with the guy, and they're getting to the root of it, and what they're seeing isn't nearly as impressive as you wish it was.

Teddy is falling on mock draft boards by the media and fans.  He may have never been all that high in the first place on the boards that matter.  Of course, we'll never know this but i think us fans are putting waaaay to much value in the opinions of the talking heads.

Agreed.  If these gurus actually knew what they were talking about, they wouldn't be talking heads in the media.  Being a media hack who does multiple mock drafts is about the same as being a TV weatherman.

But you don't bring football talk. You bring senseless drivel. There is a difference.

I've made you back out of multiple threads on the board on football-related topics. I don't only post in the Jaguars section. LOL.

Quote:Not a fan of Mack at 3. He has talent, but go watch his tape against Baylor and Stony Brook.. It's like he wasn't even out there
If that's the case you wouldn't draft Clowney either because he had plenty of bad games last year. Go look at Manziel against LSU he was trash. Having a couple bad games shouldn't drop your stock because all players have em.
