Quote:I don't agree that there's some grand conspiracy at play here. I think it's just a matter of the schedulers deferring to larger markets in most instances. Keep having dialog with TMD and he will convince you otherwise. Just look at this thread.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Quote:The Bills, Browns and Vikings have no home primetime games. We also have only one home primetime game - a season opener. Quote:Tell that to the owner of the franchise. They're making a lot of money off the London games. No doubt. It is about making money. Buy. It did alienate a few fans, who felt kicked to the curb. Primo home games...away. It also made me think winning was also secondary... Four home games is too much, by next year or the year after, hopefully we are sniffing the playoffs. That one home game...away, could mean something. But..it is what it is.

Quote:Ya know, we've worked around the fair more than once in franchise history. No kidding. Geeez, if we 're not thought enough of a po dunk franchise, let's just have our team work around the ferris wheel and cotton candy vendors.. Fl/Ga I can understand. The fair?

Quote: This is playing right in to the Gus Strategy. If you don't recall, we dominated the left coast last year when Gus made the decision to stay in Oakland when they had back to back games with Oakland then Seattle. Given the fact that we were only down 31 points to Seattle early in the 3rd quarter, I'd have to assume we may be staying in Philly over the week so the team only has to travel down the I-95 corridor to dominate the Skins. What we lack in talent, we gain in getting additional rest. Quote:No doubt. It is about making money.Oh, I'm one of them. I'm still not happy that we're losing premium games in each of the next 3 seasons. That's not what I signed up for. Never argue with idiots. Here's an interesting FACT to make you feel better about the schedule:
The last 5 teams that were in Philadelphia's home opener, went to the playoffs. Want another interesting fact? Out of those 5 teams, 4 of them won the SuperBowl that year. It wasn't until this past year, the San Deigo Charges lost a playoff game to the Denver Broncos. However, the Chargers did get a playoff win. So for the past 5 years, the playoff record for the opposing teams for the Eagles home opener has a playoff record of 16 - 1. So what do you believe? *Cheers* Quote:Here's an interesting FACT to make you feel better about the schedule: Keep the streak alive! We show less advertisements to registered users. I hope we do win...I just think that Philly is a more talented team than us...better QB...better RB...WRs are probably a push...Oline may be a push depending on how we address center...and their D is probably better...and it's at their house.

So how does your argument not apply to every team? The Jaguars should receive special treatment? I think the NFL isn't in the business of worrying about "changing the dynamic" of it's members. It's in the business of producing, somehow, a somewhat fair and balanced schedule - that pleases Fox, CBS, NBC, and ESPN.
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
Quote:I don't agree that there's some grand conspiracy at play here. I think it's just a matter of the schedulers deferring to larger markets in most instances. An example of what you mentioned is the Giants once again playing in Prime Time in Week # 1. This time on the road, despite a 7-9 record the season before. Other than the Packers and Steelers, teams that have been around since the 1920's and 1930's respectfully, I can't imagine another small market team playing a road prime time game in Week # 1 if they didn't have a winning/ playoff season the previous season. Quote:Tell that to the owner of the franchise. They're making a lot of money off the London games. Quote:No doubt. It is about making money.Say what?????? Alienate who? This can't possibly be serious. I've been here over the past few years and read over countless "Show me before I buy tickets" threads, and heard more of the like from McManus and all the other talking heads on the radio. Now, my eyes are burning because someone has the balls to question Kahn's move to actually get good money for this franchise from a home game, while at the same time keeping the franchise from moving. Please tell me this is a joke and people haven't become so self-centered to think that this some entitlement. This owner is using some serious vision to make this franchise viable in this market. He is doing so despite at the time he purchased said franchise, everyone wanted to stand on rooftops and shout, "show me the team, then I'll buy!" He did Jaguar fans a huge favor and they're too stupid to even realize it, if that response is indicative of the common sentiment.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
