Ryan Mallett

TMD used one stat, QB rating, to declare David Garrard elite in 2007.

False.

Why do you always have to lie? I guess you don't feel that your argument is strong enough to stand on its own without lying.

QB rating, YPA, comp %, and TD-INT ratio were at least four categories in which I cited for labeling Garrard's 2007 season, as "elite".

It's not a lie.  You used that stat to try to spin it like Garrard had an elite 2007.  The only one lying here is you if you're denying it.

No matter how you try to spin it now, the reality is he wasn't elite in any way, shape, or form.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I cited all four stats I just produced as why I thought Garrard's 2007 season was elite, as well as 3rd down %

Absolutely nothing. TMD is delusional.

Quote:Quinn Gray played great in the preseason too, (as much as I liked him, it proved out that pre season stat padding meant nothing) just stop.....you aren't raising trade value by pre-season performance alone.
I know a few players that might like to disagree with you:

Matt Hasselbeck

Matt Schaub

Charlie Whitehurst

I'm sure there are others, but I don't have a ton of time to hunt right now. When evaluating backup QBs for trade potential, a GM looks at everything available. Preseason performances definitely affect trade value--do you think the Bills would've given up first and fourth-round picks for Rob Johnson (best trade in franchise history, imo) if they didn't?

LOL, it wasn't Rob Johnson's performance in exhibition games that made the Bills interested, it was that comeback last minute win he executed vs Baltimore in the regular season opener. I think RJ was like 20-24 that game for 3 TD and 0 INT and over 300 yards.

Then what did Matt Schaub do to warrant being traded for 2 second rounders??

Get outta here with your add nothing clown post.

In both cases it would be their QB reputation from college that earned their trades.

The problem is Mallett has shown little to no development in the limited time he has been on the field. He had poor footwork, poor ball placement, never had to go through progressions, and forced horrible throws everywhere.(which is pretty typical of elite arm strength QBs).

So you watch a few preseason games of his 2.5 years later and he still has bad footwork, bad ball placement, and shows terrible decision making. If you show virtually no growth after 2.5 years of tutelage under Belichick and Brady I think it's safe to say you just aren't going to make it.

So - which of our 11 picks are we supposed to spend on Mallett and your back-up RB from Philly?  (Bryce Brown was it?)

Just want to get this straight - so we can see what those picks look like in two years compared to Mallett/Brown value-wise. Hey, you may be right. I don't think so - but stranger things have happened.

The ones that we get when we trade down from 3 to 6 of course. If we don't do that then Dave fails as a GM remember?

Sorry  - I have a hard time keeping up with all of the invented failures.   (Aren't the real ones bad enough?)

Still curious as to which picks we should be trading away for Mallett and Brown.   (assuming we didn't sign Gerhart)

This debate is a lot more fun when we can compare these players to the ones selected with the picks you want to deal.

I like that there are six pages about Ryan Fricking Mallett.  OMG, can people let it go?!

I'd deal our 3rd for Mallett and one of our 5th's in exchange for Bryce Brown.

Maybe we can do some kind of multi-team deal and end up with LeFevour and Barkley too.

Awesome.

Still hung up on blasts from the past like Rob Johnson, Quinn Gray, David Garrard...

...since we're going that far back, then probably just getting started with Mallett.  Well behind the curve, so to speak.

Probably haven't given Dan Lefevour his "due" yet, either.
