Manziel would certainly change the nation's perspective/rhetoric on our schedule/first 4 games

Going off what I said in my original OP, I read this this morning. Guy took the words right out of my mouth about the Dallas game...

This is from Dallas News. Guy thinks Cowboys-Jags would be biggest Dallas game of the entire season...IF JAcksonville drafts right. I know we can disagree about IF manziel will make to the next level, but this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about changing perception and excitement. The idea of Dallas fans/collumnists looking ahead to Jaguars as their biggest game of the season? Whoda thought that a few months ago? This is what I call a change in rhetoric before Jaguars ever even take the field in 2014.

Quote:<p style="font-size:.8em;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Mavericks beat writer Eddie Sefko and Dallas columnist Kevin Sherrington joined Fox Sports Southwest's John Rhadigan for SportsDay OnAir. Here are some highlights.

<p style="font-size:.8em;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<p style="font-size:.8em;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What's the one Cowboys game that you won't want to miss next season?

<p style="font-size:.8em;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<p style="font-size:.8em;color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Kevin Sherrington: When the Cowboys are in London to play Jacksonville and Johnny Football is running all over the field for the Jaguars. And if Jacksonville does not take Johnny Manziel, I think the commissioner should revoke their football license.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

I mean he'll sell tickets, jerseys, invigerate a region, lift a nation and heal the world.

Quote:I'll definitely take the bet with you FBT Smile That is of course IF we draft Johnny at 3.

At Gus' old team, Russell Wilson was picked with the 75th pick, and started the first game. IMO, only way Manziel doesn't start a first game in the NFL next season is if he's taken late in the first round by say Cowboys, Patriots, etc. If he's taken by Jags, Raiders, Bucs, Texans, etc, he'll start first day.

Wilson was a 5th year senior who had qualities coming out of college that Manziel doesn't have. Manziel is two years away from where Wilson was his rookie season.

When fans in JAcksonville(like myself) want him, that kind of sarcasm can be used.

But when Dallas News is saying stuff about the Jaguars, about Manziel, they have no horse in the race. I think a guy like Sherrington is looking over at us and being quite honest/real. He's thinking, listen Jags, when we go over to London together, Cowboys are going to be the biggest draw, we are going to get all the pub, everybody's going to be watching us, and we're prolly going to clobber you and Chad Henne too. But then he hears we have the #3 pick. And I think he's genuinely thinking, wow, Jaguars could actually change everything this year. For him it's a no-brainer. Sherrington may be wrong, but I do think he's sincere.

It's a good thing that's not the mindset the front office will be taking in how they approach the draft.  If they do, let's start a pool now for who the new GM will be.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Dallas is like 2 hours away from College Station.
