In the 2nd Rd of the 2014 NFL draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select:

Assuming they don't take WR Watkins with the 1st pick, then I would take Jordan Matthews in round 2.  This team is horrible in the WR corps without Blackmon on the active roster.

Quote:I like Van Noy fine, but for a LB at 39 I want a guy who will get to the quarterback regularly and Van Noy is well rounded but not really a pass rusher. My wish list for 39 is one of Lawrence, Attachou, Adams, Robinson, Latimer, Martin, or Richburg. I would be extremely disappointed with QB in the 2nd round, unless Teddy or Carr magically fall that far.

I would rather have Attaochu and Lawrence than Van Noy, but I think Van Noy may be very good himself.

26 sacks in 4 years ins't bad... 13 sacks in his Junior year tells me he can get to the QB some way, somehow.

I think Attaochu will be considered by Gus quite heavily.  I'll be confident either of those guys will do a great job in this defense because after all, they had 1 week at the Senior bowl with the players...

Attachou's relationship with us interests me. The Jags played him almost exclusively as an ILB during the senior bowl, much to the chagrin of the twitter draftniks that were attending. Several guys including Josh Norris speculated they were trying to hide him from the other NFL scouting depts that were there. The Jags also didn't attend his pro day or bring him in for a visit or workout. Either they really don't think much of him at all, or they might be trying to put on a very elaborate smokescreen.

What worries me with Lawrence is he struggles at point of contact. If he's getting held up at the line in college, what happens at the next level?

The best receiver remaining (unless we have already got Watkins)

Would you take Van Noy over Dee Ford?

For instance, I think Attaochu is a better pure pass rusher than Khalil Mack, or is at least even with him.  Mack does everything else better, but if we're looking for SAM/LEO.... I think Attaochu in the 2nd would be incredible value.  We'll see how it turns out.

Interesting what you said about us playing him at ILB.  I read that he was lined up in a lot of different positions at the Senior Bowl.  I'm confident our coaching staff knows him better than anyone else now, so we'll see if we pass on him.

What would be everyones reaction if we drafted Khalil Mack 3rd overall and then Kyle Van Noy at pick 39?

It'd be fine and they could definitely coexist in the same defense, but I would rather go WR w/ Adams/Latimer/Robinson or C with Martin/Richburg.
