Bridgewater with the 3rd pick

Quote:lol if u think the AAC isnt a smaller conference

What an intelligent response, really thought out. When was the last time Cincinnatti, Rutgers, Uconn, USF, UCF, and Louisville have been considered small schools? You obviously don't watch a lot of college sports outside the SEC.

I'm not sitting here pounding the table for Bridgewater, but some of the excuses people come up with (small conference, frame etc..) are hilarious. If he had a eye popping drop off in production in his bowl games against "better competition" (similar to how Derek Carr played against USC) then I'd give it to you, but the guy has excelled in out of conference games, and single handedly beat the best defense in college football in the Gators two years ago.

What's more hilarious are the excuses for why he's not in the conversation to be selected at #3.

I never called a power conference, like it is in basketball, but it's certainly not a small conference either. If you think the AAC is a small conference, I'd hate to see what you'd think of the Ohio Valley conference, where draft favorite Jimmy Garopollo played.

Obviously not.

.3 of a second should be negligible too...but how many rounds difference is there between a receiver that runs 4.4 and one that runs 4.7?

But even if you include Vick (ignoring the vast disparity of speed between Vick and Manziel), you are still talking how many QBs over the last 50 years that's <6' drafted #1 overall?

That's not the issue.

You indicated the ONLY reason Manziel isn't the unquestioned #1 overall pick is due to race.

You'd have to show that other ostensibly race neutral reasons are pretextual.

I'd say a good first step is establishing the list of QBs <6' that have gone number one overall.

Was Louisville known more for it's defense or offense the years of Teddy in your opinion?

Y'know how teams like Bama and LSU are known primarily and fundamentally for their defenses, teams like A&M and Oregon their unstoppable offenses. What was Louisville's best side of the ball in your opinion? Honest question.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

I'm not agreeing with this guy playing the race card.  I'm just saying Vick is the closest thing to a short QB taken 1st overall.

I agree Vick is the closest thing to a short QB.

But being the closest thing to a short QB doesn't make you <6 feet tall like Manziel.

Fact is, you won't find many QB drafted #1 overall in the last 50 years that are <6 feet tall, irrespective of race.

Louisville had a strong defense, and a balanced offense, they were a balanced football team. Unlike the teams in the PAC 12 or Big 12. Louisville reminded me of a Big 10  team (particulary Wisconsin when they had Russell Wilson), run the ball, setup up playaction, and play solid defense.

Oh, you feel about this, but are afraid to speak your mind.

Sources tell ESPN.com that after the quarterback completed his junior season at Louisville, he added $5 million on top of his already purchased $10 million total disability injury policy and supplemented it with $5 million in loss-of-value insurance.

When Bridgewater bought the loss-of-value policy for less than $20,000, he was projected to be the No. 3 pick in the draft (Thanks to Wiseman 101 Laughing ), and a source with knowledge of the policy said he will start to collect money if he falls out of the top 11.

I can't find Vick's combine height but the reason he was drafted #1 was because he could run between 4.25 - 4.33 in the 40 yard dash and he has a laser for an arm.....Comparing that to Manziel is crazy.

Also to add to your facts I doubt you can find many QBs that are under 6'4" that were taken in the top 5......let alone the top 10....

Coming into the league, and even after he had arrived, Mike Vick was considered almost a freak show in athleticism.

Remember Nike doing an entire ad campaign around him?  The Michael Vick Experience?  They basically created an amusement park ride around being Mike Vick.  Then came the dogs.

Michael Vick is argubably one of the greatest athletes to ever walk the face of the planet, he's the definition of a quick twitch athlete.
