The team needs offensive firepower so desperately.

Watkins but it's close.

Was a big fan of Mack until I watched the Baylor tape. Like Watkins but don't want to take a wr at 3. Would prefer to trade back and get Barr or if the price was cheap enough trade up and get Clowney.

The Ohio State tape  is the only one that matters.

With any passrusher you're going to have games they're shut out. He's had enough great games that combined with his measurables I don't doubt he'll be really good in the NFL. It would be different if his only success was against Ohio State.

Defense any day over Offense, just ask the sea-hawks and Denver about it.

Uh, yeah....ask Denver.... the team that just broke the offense record, lol.

Balance wins. not defense only, & not offense only.

gene smith: so much better than shack.

gene smith: just kidding, i always knew he was horrible.

if only mack was a ball hawking safety or cb. we would win every superbowl.

id say 80% of the games mack played in you can rewatch and see he is a difference maker on the field. there are a couple games where he didnt do a ton on the stat sheet but you go and watch the game and see that he causes problems everywhere. i can find stat lines for jared allen, ware, mario williams, where they got blanked in games just as easily as the ones where you say mack got blanked. spin doctor brian boitano in full force today.

Seattle also won because they are balanced enough on offense. At RB, and in the passing game.

Without being balanced, they'd never have made it TO the SB.

I know that some of you pine to think that Bedrock-era football works, but it doesn't. Never will again. Catch up to the times. Winning titles by a seasons worth of 6-3 and 10-7 football games is never going to happen again. Thank God.

hey i wanted to know if you could just super size my french fry order for me? debating football seems to go in one ear and out the other so we can talk about something you can actually intelligently discuss if you want.

in a passing NFL league, seattles pass rush and corners who arent considered ball hawks are what made the difference. richard sherman shut down half of the football field, and peyton was rattled early on. earl thomas is a rangy safety that can make plays and has good ball skills but cyprien is also rangy and with an improved pass rush maybe we dont need to worry about overdrafting a guy that plays in the AFCA d2 that has almost no technique, struggles against quick wide receivers... (afca d2 quick wide receivers) and cant jam.

and instead would maybe focus on taking a guy that excelled against higher level competition, led the NCAA in forced fumbles (which just so you know, when the defense recovers those, theyre called turnovers) who is rated much higher, is a guaranteed top 5 pick. and can make plays all over the field including causing havoc in the back field. has great technique, high motor, and is a proven commodity.

Earl Thomas might not be a CB, but he's very important to what that defense does, and most certainly IS considered a ball hawk.

lol, ....go away.

For what it's worth, for the football playoff pool this past season, I went with a defense first theme and picked teams with the best defenses almost exclusively.  In spite of picking Seattle to win the Super Bowl, I was mathematically eliminated after the Wild Card round as the better quarterbacks won the overwhelming majority of the games that weekend and throughout the playoffs.  In fact, I lost every game, including my AFC Super Bowl pick the first week, and it didn't get much better after that.

Seattle has done a masterful job of building that defense, and I would love for us to be able to accumulate that kind of talent on that side of the ball, but they seem to be more the exception than the rule these days.

Pot calling the kettle black huh?

You just told TMD that he knows nothing about football yet you claim the Seahawks dont have ball hawks?!!

And you want to have an intelligent conversation, yet you insult him my asking him to super size your fries?? Yup... sounds real intelligent on your end.

Seattle wasn't just all Defense though; it's not like they sat around and hoped someone would score for them. That offense ranked in the top quarter of the League in points scored, averaged over five yards per play overall, and were the sixth ranked team in terms of time of possession.

When you add that to the #1 overall scoring and turnover creating Defense, you get a really nice combination that compliments one another very well. Granted, they weren't Denver-esque in their offensive production but they weren't exactly slouches either.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
