Cowboys will "figure out a way" to draft Johnny Manziel

Quote:Oh, sorry I forgot we were strapped for cash. Our cap situation has nothing to do with it. Look at his contract. You're stuck with him until he's about to turn 40. No thanks. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I can just understand the reasoning behind including him in the trade.
Quote:I disagree, especially considering who is on the other end of the deal. If they want the 3rd pick, it has to benefit the Jags to move out of it. Using value boards as a guide, Dallas has to give up their first next year to make this even remotely appealing. That doesn't quite cover the gap, so we should be asking for their 2nd rounder this year. Yep, I agree with the above philosophy. Quote:Ah yes, Washington. I remember now. I was gravitating to Dallas' pick before that where they were taking forever to select and the speculation was that they were on the phone with someone. Probably us. Maybe that was even confirmed that it was us? I guess we can count our blessings a little that we didn't give up even more to move up the one extra spot. Not that it matters now with the complete gutting of the roster last year. As to the point in bold, we agree as a general proposition. However, if there were a situation where several teams are trying to trade up to get that player, I'd rethink my willingness to deal down. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:As to the point in bold, we agree as a general proposition. I agree if there are several teams. Right now that doesn't appear to be the case. So, if Dallas comes calling, you lay it out in a way that most benefits the Jaguars. If they are willing to part ways with multiple picks, great. If not, we can simply draft their target. I think Jerry Jones' ego will rule the day here. If he really wants Manziel that badly, swapping firsts this year, and trading us their 2nd in this draft, PLUS a first next year is acceptable compensation for a QB. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

That would be a tough deal to turn down...though I don't think Dallas would ever offer that for Manziel. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:But then if Manziel turns out to be great, we look stupid. Not really. Especially if we wind up with another QB who is just as good. Having an extra 1st round pick certainly helps. King's ransom without the Romo please. Hey, why not trade down with ATL first. If Johnny is there at 6, trade with Dallas. Accumulate an insane number of picks.
Yeah, it's all a fantasy but still fun to think about. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:King's ransom without the Romo please. ATL apparently wants Clowney, so he would need to be there at 3 for that to work. And if he is there, we would take him imo. If ATL really wants Clowney, they may cough up so much that it just might be worth trading. Think of it as ATL trading for Clowney rather than a pick trade. Clowney prob won't be at 3 though. |
