Quote:Terrible? You know this for a fact? Of course. But as a top 10 pick, Warmack and Milliner were disappointments. Just like RIchardson, Barron, Kirkpatrick, McClain and Kareem Jackson. That is funny, I have heard different. McClain, Jackson, and Richardson yes. Kirkpatrick to an extent. Alabama also has 36 players in the NFL. Not all are going to be great players. Most of them are pretty darn good.
Look at the players from Alabama that have entered the league under Saban. Few, if any, have lived up to (or exceeded) the expectations of where they were drafted.
Barron is a solid player but he was the 7th pick in the draft. Picking a safety that high, he better be more than solid.
Out of Saban's Alabama Draft Picks that went in the top 3 rounds I would rank them:
Studs: Andre Smith - OT - Started slow but was considered top RT in the league when he nearly hit the market Marcel Daruis - DT Julio Jones - WR Solid Players: James Carpenter - OT Mark Barron - S Dre Kirpatrick - CB Dont'a Hightower - LB Courntey Upshaw - LB Par: Rashad Johnson - CB Mark Ingram - RB - Looked Bust Worthy but has become decent Terrance Cody - DT Sub-Par: Caldwell - OC Kareem Jackson - CB Javier Arenas - CB Mike Johnson - OG - Injury plagued Trent Richardson - RB - Could turn into something ala Ingram Bust: Rolanda McClain - LB Not Judged: Glenn Coffee - RB - Retired after 1 year to pursue military career Chance Warmack: Looked Par but too early DJ Fluker: Looked Stud Worthy but too early Dee Milliner: Looked Sub-Par but too early Eddie Lacy: Looked pretty Stud Worthy but too early Quote:Carries are the big thing with RBs, not age.So I'm making fellow Bama fans look bad because I like AJ, yet you think Norwood is a running back? Lol it's funny how this thread changed to a let's grade past bama draft picks
Quote:So I'm making fellow Bama fans look bad because I like AJ, yet you think Norwood is a running back?Did you even read the post above his? I made a point about how a 24-year-old running back could be a value steal in any draft. He was responding to that, not calling Norwood a RB. Quote:Did you even read the post above his? I don't use quotes when the post I'm replying to is directly above it. Figured people are at least smart enough to realize what I'm replying to if they actually read the thread.
Quote:Alabama players are overrated. I doubt one goes in the 1st or 2nd round.Alabama FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is going to be drafted within the top ten to twelve of the first. ILB C.J. Mosley will also go in the first. OT Cyrus Kouandjio will land in the top ten to fifteen of the second round. A.J. McCarron is likely to be the surprise. Who predicted that E.J. Manuel would be the first QB taken last year? I did that and also believed that he was going to possibly be drafted in the first round. All things considered, McCarron could be the first player drafted. If the Texans were willing to draft Biff Bortles Rd.1 #1 they just might find McCarron more suitable. Look at it this way, everybody repeats the idea that Russell Wilson changed the mentality of NFL scouts towards that prototype of passer. What exactly did Tom Brady do for under-appreciated, highly competitive, huge university, skinny-boned, bird-chested QB/geeks? Nothin, and that's amazing after all that Brady has done for the game.

Quote:Alabama players are overrated. I doubt one goes in the 1st or 2nd round. CJ Mosely and Haha Clinton-Dix will both go round 1. Cyrus Kouandjio is also a late first-2nd round type talent. Quote:Well that does it. He's maxed out. WR purgatory. LOL... He'd be a nice late round pick.
