Quote:It is what it is.. It was crablegs.. If it was such a big deal, he would have been arrested and thrown in prison. Guess what? He wasn't.. Or are you guys going to cry that there was way more that he actually stolen and it was a collaboration of the TPD and Publix to keep him from going to prison simply because it happened in Tally? Smell a cover up? You guys are really reaching here..

So, in actuality, given the facts and punishment, it wasn't a big deal.. Don't know how that can't be seen..

20 year old adults should not be stealing anything. whether its a 99 cent pack of gum or $40 worth of crab legs. its petty larceny under $500. why dont you walk into a grocery store right now and walk out with crab legs over your head and wait for the police. if its not such a big deal you might as well just go and do it right? i mean as an adult you should understand that it is never ok to steal. i guess when someone from FSU does it, it is no big deal though.

and no, i can assure you from at least the age of 14 or 15 on (thats as far as i can probably remember) that i have not stolen anything. as soon as i learned that it was wrong and understood it, i never did. but thanks.

What do you personally want done with him, Achillies.. Let's hear what you think should be done with Jameis, given everything that has happened to him.

What happened to him is exactly what would and should have happened to a first time offender that commits a misdemeanor..

Somehow I'm thinking if this was your kid...or your crab legs it wouldn't be "no big deal".

Quote:And you're one of the one's trying to crucify someone that you yourself have actually done before as well.. We've all done it..

crucify is hyperbole. stop bringing religion into it. what we are trying to discuss is the law. i wasnt even that harsh on winston in my original post. the only thing i said was he has no care for the law, authority, or consequences. which is clearly evident. it is not a made up persona. it is jameis winston, proven time and time again. im not asking for him to go to prison or the death penalty. im just saying that i think he is a crappy person that probably millions of people idolize. which is an embarrassing thing for jameis to let all those people down, and hopefully some of the fans who arent advocating thievery, like yourself, will stop putting him on a pedestal. he is a very good football player, and a seemingly terrible person. he isnt a superhero and he isnt a role model.

Well Jameis isn't guilt free, so what is your point?

Exactly..

The punishment fit the crime, he's paying his comeuppance..  What else do you guys want? The electric chair?

I was hoping we could go in a less heavy direction... but on a serious note,

It really is reflective of the sense of entitlement given the pedestal these athletes are put on.  And quite frankly, they get it honest (no pun intended.)  Not excusing it, since you're right... stealing is stealing.  It's just there's a bigger problem, and that's the entitlement mentality both they and those who provide for them foster.

for a first proven guilty offense. this is correct. in the future if there are any other transgressions, i believe the max penalty for whatever he does should take place. IF he does anything else.

My point is, none of us are. His is only magnified by spotlight, but, he's still human like the rest of us regardless..

"Stop acting like he committed a murder"

This is so stupid.  We are acting like he is a scumbag thief, which is exactly what he is.

Stop acting like as long as he didn't commit murder, its no big deal.  So the only punishable crime in your book is murder?

He isn't charged, it's no big deal...he is charged, it's no big deal.

I'm thinking nothing he does wrong will ever rank as a big deal...
