It's Mack or Sammy at #3, right?

Quote:What have you contributed? You think Watkins will suck based on what? Because we all know it isn't from you watching his games at Clemson.

I've watched a lot of the player. Thats exactly what I am basing it on. I can't wait until he tries to succeed at the next level with all that screen/ short pass [BAD WORD REMOVED]. Good luck.

When he's just another good WR in the NFL, not what you'd expect from 3rd overall, I'm sure you'll have some excusie.

top 5 ORT (or OLT should a team draft him to play there) in the NFL by year 3 at the latest.

The screens/short passes have nothing to do with how he projects to the NFL. That's the offense. Blackmon was force fed the ball in college mostly through screens and short passes and I recall you being a huge fan of him even before the Jags took him.

We threw a lot of bubble screens and 1 yard outs to Jimmy Smith.

Noone complained?  You know why?  Because he would routinely take that 1 yard catch, make the CB miss, and pick up the 1st down.

The bubble screen only sucks when you keep throwing it to Mike Thomas.

Sammy is awesome.

lol and?  what impact will that RT make?

a RT that high is [BLEEP]..

I think you should take those big uglies in rounds 2-4 but each year.  Each year draft a couple of offensive lineman.  You should have a stable of solid O-lineman.

In the top 5 we need to draft a guy that impacts the game.

Our biggest problem looking at this roster right now is the ability to score points.  Give me Sammy Watkins and the ability to score points has suddenly increased a lot.

Watkins would have been the first receiver taken after his freshman year.

After how you raved about Dan LeFevour I can't really take anything you say about a college prospect seriously.

Works for Blackmon.

I think the odds are a trade down will occur, as someone will want to move up for Watkins, Mack, or Manziel, and Caldwell wants the extra picks to reach his stated desire of 12-14 total picks.

If not, I think Caldwell will go for an offensive playmaker, either Watkins or Manziel.  The Jags, without Blackmon, have the worst WR corps in the league, the offense was putrid, and Watkins has the best number 1 skillset in the draft.  If Manziel is truly the only QB that Caldwell believes has near-term starting capability, I would think he may find Johnny Football fairly tough to pass up.  It is nice to think you can just pick up one of the QBs in next year's draft, but you never know where you will be picking next year.

They like Pasztor's current development (and cost), and a RT just doesn't seem to be a priority or fit in Caldwell's stated goal to find playmakers.  As the Jags acquired Clemons, Watson, re-signed Branch, have cross-fingers with Branch, and signed other DL in free agency, I don't think they will choose a pass rusher or go defense in round 1 (unless Clowney is there).

Being down early in each game because we can't score will limit the effectiveness of any pass-rusher we have.

We need a more balanced team.  So far, the D looks respectable, whereas our offense looks pathetic.

Luckily this draft is supposed to be a good one especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Watkins at 3 please.

1. There is no reason that pasztor couldn't eventual turn into a probowl level RT. He is young and has the physical tools.

2. There is no guarantee Matthews will. This is all simply TMD designed so when the jags don't take him, TMD can complain.

3. I guess its Watkins fault that Clemson ran a ton of screens to him. He should have stopped turning those smoked out screens into exciting gains and huge plays and asked them to put him on more routes that TMD would have approved of. He is still tall enough, he's fast, he's strong, he makes defenders miss and knows how to get open. I think from watching him that he is a future top 10 WR.

4. When it comes down to it, QB is going to be the most important piece of the puzzle. Manziel or teddy would do the most to change the future of the franchise. Would be tough to see them passed on and come out killing it for another team.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

LOL, Blackmon may have had his share of shorter passes, but his highlight reels are FULL of him making plays DOWNFIELD on intermediate and deeper receptions as well. Blackmon was a stud and you could see it. Watkins ain't [BLEEP].

....do I hear a clown?? yep. I have already listed 4 players who I'd be happy with at 3.

Your agenda above = ruined.

You're pretty much a moron. Yes, Watkins had his fair share of screen passes and short passes, but he's made plenty of plays downfield. To say he ain't **** pretty much shows how clueless you are.

Shame on Chad Morris for getting the ball in the hands of one of the most electric receivers in the country anyway he could.

Taking Matthews at 3 after trading Monroe for peanuts would be asinine and a horrible misuse of assets. We won't take Matthews at 3, period.

What a year I have no idea who we could pick this draft!!  I hope we trade down for more picks and still pick someone like manziel , mack, Watkins, or Mathews. I agree we can score a nice WR later. could you guys imagine the draft party id we drafted Manziel !!! I don't feel like we have any intention on doing so but you never know.

Cant wait til Thurs!!!

My point is Watkins will be no better than a guy like Torrey Smith in the pro's. Yeah, thats a good WR, but not one anyone needs to take at 3 overall.

Stop being so literal, clowny.

Taking BAP is never a horrible misuse of assets.

I was told the 4th and the 5th rounders was a good trade, lol,,,,,

I guess it is only when it fits your agenda.

Yep, everyday of the week and 2x on Sundays.

Not even close, really.

Is Sammy Watkins going to have an almost 300 yard game in his rookie season???..,,,, HIGHLY DOUBT IT.

Blackmon did that with Chad Henne at QB.....think about that for a few minutes....

I've never agreed with the Monroe trade's return because Monroe never (at least publicly) made any comments about not wanting to re-sign. And then sure enough, the Ravens re-signed him rather easily to a very fair deal. He wasn't elite, but Joeckel could have and would have gotten used to right tackle and we would have had a great tackle tandem for years.

But once that trade is made, for peanuts no less, you don't turn around and waste a top-5 pick on, essentially, his replacement. You just don't. You'd be giving away your #3 pick for a 4th and 5th rounder, or whatever Monroe fetched (I thought it was worse than that?)
