Browns sign Vince Young + Tyler Thigpen

Quote:Why? Yeah, this is not really surprising. Equally bad QBs have managed to enjoy far longer NFL careers beating around the league. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Yeah, this is not really surprising. Equally bad QBs have managed to enjoy far longer NFL careers beating around the league.I always thought that teams didn't want to sign Young was because he was actually better than most back-ups in the league and wouldn't accept back-up money. But I guess given his situation, beggar can't be chooser. Yes, I understand that Young might not be the sharpest tool in the shed. And it looks like the NFL karma came back and bite him in the behind for not making the best of his opportunity (and financial wealth). I certainly don't feel bad that he's in the situation that's he was in the past couple of years -- unemployment and broke. What I don't understand, however, is that it seems like the NFL black-listed him for some reasons. I always thought that in this league, if you can produce (even at a backup role), then you have a job, but not so with Vince Young. With the exception of Josh McCown (Cutler's back up), if you ask me to pick out a QB to be my backup and be ready to play, I'm picking Young over everyone on that list. Yes, even Flynn if the system isn't Mike McCarthy/Green Bay. Given how desperate he was last year financially and how many teams ended up needing a quality back-up, I was surprised Young didn't get a legitimate shot to join a team. Maybe Jeff Fisher pulled some wicked black-listing job in the background? LOL.
His reputation from his time in Tennessee has probably been the biggest thing working against him, as he wasn't exactly seen in a favorable light amongst coaches and players. A backup quarterback, maybe more than anymore, needs to be a really good teammate, and VY really hasn't shown that.
The situation in Tenn is long gone now. But given what he's been through, don't you think he'll be desperate enough to want a job and be a good teammate?
Young not finding a backup job is something that always baffle me. I think he's definitely is being blacklisted lol. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
There are a number of reasons players don't find work in the league and one of them is because he's a Pain in the Rear. Apparently VY is one. He's immature, a prima donna, and didn't run the plays the coaches called. Not many coaches care to take the time to deal with that from a backup QB when there are plenty of others who will not require so much attention.

He didn't show anyone of that when he backed up Vick forthe Eagles a couple season ago.
Vince Young released. As I said, signing him prior to the draft was a smokescreen.

Quote:Ha that was just mean.... Poor Young. I guess you could literaly say that and be correct.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
He hasn't played a regular season game since when, 2011 or something. Rookie of the year, a couple of Pro Bowls, and the guy can't get a job because he's a head case and PITB. Seems like Johnny Football is cut from the same cloth.
