Sammy Watkins

you said you see Watkins as nothing more than a so so receiver and that you wouldn't draft someone with average height or average speed in the top 5. What about those 10 guys I listed in a redraft. Would any of them warrant a top 5 pick?
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:I can't think of many more smaller frame's of QB than Joe Montana.....Jim Kelly wasn't exactly Hercules, either....Phil Simms, another.... Straw man argument. These guys played in a very different era of the NFL. Kelly was 6'3", and around 225 lbs, so he wasn't a waif like your mancrush. Phil Simms was about the same build as Kelly. Maybe a few lbs lighter, but by much. Montana was more slightly built, but again, completely different era. Linemen were easily 30-50 lbs lighter than the average weight of the guys they're trotting out there today. They weren't as strong, or nearly as fast. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Kelly was 6-3, 217. Simms was 215??? Very deceiving. Looked tiny out there. Also deceiving was Theismann. I always assumed he was bigger than that.
Having seen Theismann in person a few times, he's a big guy at all.

Thats the point, teams rarely take WR top 5 anymore unless they are the type like Megatron/ AJ Green/ Fitz/ A JOhnson....where they seem like mortal locks to be studs. Sammy Watkins is not that, IMNSHO. And so-so? No. Watkins will be a good WR in this league. Just not nearly worthy of a top 5 pick in a deep WR draft. I'd select Evans before I'd select Watkins. And I'm not taking Evans before 6. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I agree....and if one IS going to make it, what is one of the most important things? His football IQ/ command of the position/ game.....Teddy's is off the charts. Right QB, wrong package just the same.

Quote:Simms was 215??? Very deceiving. Looked tiny out there. Jim Zorn was another smaller QB at 6-2, 200, as was Dave Krieg (6-1, 193). Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Yeah, he's exactly who I thought of when I saw the IQ comment. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Shock the world
Honestly no thread on this board goes more than 10 pages unless the subject is arguing with TMD. Its kinda sad.
It's kinda entertaining... I mean you can't take him seriously.. I try but it's so difficult.

Quote:It's kinda entertaining... I mean you can't take him seriously.. I try but it's so difficult. Yep, maybe I oughta just go along with the sheep, errr, flow, instead, like all you guys... How many people on this board are free thinkers? 2 maybe 3? Most of y'all are nothing but sheep.
Quote:Yep, maybe I oughta just go along with the sheep, errr, flow, instead, like all you guys...I applaud free thinking but not disagreeing with everyone all the time. It seems like you make it a point so have some obscure off the wall opinion about everything just being the sake of being different. if you didn't do it so often people probably wouldn't have such a problem with you. If you are gonna be the free thinker as you call it you have to take the flak that's gonna come with it and not complain about. |
