But does .5 - .75 of an inch make that much of a difference?

This "frame" talk is non sense. If anybody has size concerns, its Manziel since he runs alot. Even then, guys know how to transition to the pro game and slide more.
Yep, I said that I wasn't worried about either of their frames months and months ago on here. I am worried about JFFs playstyle, however.

EJ Manuel is built like Adonis and he got hurt one of his very first games cause he just wouldn't run out of bounds and his knee was taken out.

I don't think the guy is an injury waiting to happen or anything like that.  I just think that the shoulder, collarbone and rib cage injuries that are common among quarterbacks may be worsened for a guy with his build.   Maybe not.  I'm no James Andrews, I just see it as a mild concern.  If I were a GM that really liked his potential as an NFL QB in every other area - I wouldn't move him down on my board because of his size.  But as a fan looking over prospects -  it's disconcerting to me to imagine him getting pancaked by JJ Watt. And I wonder if his size might make the outcome of that scenario worse than it would for a QB blessed with better structure.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Manziel already has a bad shoulder, doesn't he? I could'a sworn he was nursing it this past season.

Tanking guarantees nothing. The guy that people wanted to tank for might fall out of the first round.

Winning a few games down the stretch didn't hurt this team one bit in this draft, but you still have some folks who were the most vocal about tanking defending the strategy. It's laughable. Especially with this draft.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Still........I kinda wish we hadn't swept the Texans. We would have the #1 pick tomorrow PLUS the top pick in round 2

Still the franchise will survive despite their horrible draft position.

Not worried. I have the feeling we're going to have a great draft the next 3 days. I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight. Kinda like Christmas Eve when I was a kid. (-:

Lets wait on the dishing out crow until we see if the Texans are able to pull off a blockbuster sweetheart of a deal to trade down.

If they are ultimately forced to take a selection at 1 thats not a QB, perhaps I might agree with you.

Proud member of the tanking brigade. If we have no chance at the playoffs next year and Chad Henne is still the QB ill be in the tanking crew once again.

Hoping for losses does not equal thinking the team is TRYING to lose just to make that clear.

This is laughable.

We haven't lost a thing by winning the games we did this year. Houston isn't going to get an RG3 deal to get out of the too pick. There simply isn't a player at the top of this draft worth giving up that level of picks. Not even Clowney.

You pranced around for months whining about every win, all because we were losing out on Bridgewater. Turns out he could be there when we pick in the second round. As remote as it might be, the fact that he's not the top pick in this draft means all your teenage girl angst was wasted energy.

its more important for your young players to improve and win games gain confidence than to tank year after year for a unproven player. Good thing u dont run this franchise we would probably be in London. Your losing mentality his horrible logic to get better

The difference here is TMD was blasting the team for not trying to lose. He lauded Houston for tanking, and even suggested there was a conspiracy at play. Months of his delusional whining are going to be debunked in less than a day.

as said.....if 8 pm arrives tomorrow and Houston has made their pick and they weren't able to get the sweet trade, then I'll concede a bit, not yet.

Players and coaches don't tank.. It's called integrity and pride. No player in his right mind is gonna call it quits especially when he's playing for his job.

It's irrelevant.

You were wrong.

The Jags could just as easily trade down and improve their lot in the draft.

The point remains the same. Winning a few games didn't hurt this team one bit.

Consider who advocated this. For them, tanking is a lifestyle choice.

true.. Still it's annoying. You don't build a winning culture by tanking games.

Its not irrelevant.

Its about getting the most opportunity.

I was wrong about Bridgewater not being the target.

I am not wrong about tanking for the 1st overall pick if having that pick results in a giant windfall of picks from a trade down.

Even if the Jags still trade down after (such as in your hypothetical) it won't be nearly the return of what Houston is likely to get at 1.

So, as said, until 8 pm passes with no trade from Houston, I am not conceding anything.

You were and still are wrong, but tanking is something you've grown accustomed to. I get it. You're just projecting your own aspirations on a team you claim to be a fan of. It's hard to let go of the loser mentality once you've gotten used to it.
