Blake Bortles

Quote:And this year he ran a spread offense.  While Blake Bortles was running a pro-style this year.
what does that have to do with Arm Strength or how they played in it? Would you rather have Carr and Watkins or Bortles?

Quote:Buffalo wasn't going to trade with us.  They sat and waited to see what we did first -- when they saw we didn't take Watkins... they called up Cleveland.

And this STILL makes no sense.

Did Buffalo want Watkins?

If the Jags took Watkins, would Buffalo be disappointed?

If Buffalo made the trade with the Jags instead of Cleveland, they would have been GUARANTEED to get Watkins.

Why would Buffalo prefer waiting until after the Jags picked when they could have gotten Watkins for sure at the same cost in draft pick? To save a few thousand in salary by taking Watkins at 4 instead of 3? There is no way that a GM would prefer to risk losing his top player just to save a few thousand in cap space.

Quote:Tape isnt all that impressive. Weird throwing motion. One year of "success," Lots of dumb throws. Could have had him a few picks later.

Hope Im wrong though!

Someone has already posted his stats. For those of you saying he's only had one year of success, you're clearly not bothering to use facts to back that up. His stats from 2012 were almost identical to 2013. The guy threw for more than 6,600 yards in his last 2 seasons. He threw for 25 touchdowns in each of the last 2 seasons, and threw only 16 interceptions during that stretch. He also ran for more than 500 yards.

Be honest. You didn't look at a single stat, did you?
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The only thing that makes me feel better about tonight is it took a homeless man to convince the Browns to draft JFF. At least we aren't relying on our homeless to make our picks....

However... now that I type that maybe that would be better,

Explaining it doesn't make it any less stupid.

What actually happened makes sense.

However, you are making nonsense of it.

Recall UCF played in Conf USA not the AAC the year before.

Doesn't make it any less true either. It was a bad pick. Period. UCF? LOL .

Here's the question that I think makes most sense. As a fan  - would you rather have had Bortles at 3 or JFF at 22?

Funny how people that do this for a living have a 100% different opinion then yours.

Its almost like they know what they are talking about. But im sure your long career in football/scouting is the word to take.

For me, the question is: If not Bortles who? Carr, no. Manziel, no. Bridgewater, hell no. McCarron, not as the top guy. Garoppolo, ok I admit this would have been great. Not as a 1st round pick, but if I knew for 100% he would be around at 39 then I would have said to wait for him. Basically, it was Bortles, or hope and pray that Garoppolo is still there at 39, or wait until next year to draft a QB. Personally, I like the Bortles path better as waiting was too risky and waiting until next year was definitely no option.

I'd rather have Bortles, and whoever we wind up picking in round 2 than having Carr.  I wouldn't want Carr in the 7th round.  He's his brother all over again.  Their scouting reports are pretty equal.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Manziel ended up going when? Your cleverness skills are only rivaled by your GM skills.

Who's touting this as a good pick? I mean the people that you are referring to?

 THANK YOU!

Exactly.... and as we see... we coulda traded back twice and still have gotten him.

Or grabbed watkins and then traded up to the late teens and got JFF

GOD I HATE THIS CRAP
