Quote:The draft isn't over.  Starting caliber C/G are still on the board, and not just one but several of them.  Bitonio, Martin, S-Filo, and several others.

Crash test dummy Henne is the starter, so Bortles isn't likely to see time this year, which is plenty of time for the new line to solidify.
What did Sapp say?

Like blind dogs in a meat market? We dream, but Caldwell picks.

You just know that Caldwell is going to screw up this entire draft.

We can still draft McCarron, but we won't.

Martin sucks. Let's draft him next.

Having read everything that's been said afterwards I'm a lot happier now.

I think the selection was a shock to most of us, but I really think they've made the right choice.

And a brave choice too.

Quote:(snipped most of this crap)

We already know that Bortles is going to wash out. He's a college football hero trained to win football games for UCF. He lacks NFL qualities, including ideal diagnostic capabilities.

The comparisons to Ben Roethlisberger are insulting to read and hear. Utter nonsense.

Blake Bortles in Gino Torretta 2.0

You can read about him here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gino_Torretta
Don't be dense. Gino Toretta was a seventh-round pick who was only drafted because he won the Heisman, and even then only the fans expected much of him. If you have such an unbridled hatred for Bortles, you could always just go off and cheer for the Browns. We'd all thank you for it.

Need a trade partner, and a trade partner with right compensation. In a perfect world I think everyone wanted that, even Jags brass.

It was a reach pick for need; an organization self-admitted developmental pick....at 3.  Should have taken the Bills offer, and could have gotten a next year's 1st round pick, another valuable pick this year, and a good player at pick 9.

I'd say heighth, not size. Bortles is put together better than Yo Gabba Gabba

True he has a Roethlisberger-esque build.

this was my original thought too. but again its all based on the chatter we were hearing. in hindsight, pretty much every rumor we heard was garbage. so for all we know, cleveland could have wanted to take him directly after we picked. so 3 might have been perfect. only those in the inner circle will really know.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Duped by measurables. At least Teddy went to a NFC team so I can still root for him. That kid is special and the league is about to find out.

Bortles has measurables though....yeah...whatever. good luck with Gabbert 2.0. We are set back another five years at the position once again.
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

You ever seen a game, or what he can do with a football?

Looks like UCF offense played against teams/conference with inferior defensive talent teams.  Unlike Manziel who played against SEC defenses.

I am all about the SEC, but,  what happened to Couch, Grossman, Russell, Wuerrffel, Matthews, Campbell, Martin, Mallett etc. based on that statement?

And UCF beat the brakes off of Baylor who absolutely beat the brakes off of teams last year. Beat them by 41. 41 is not a fluke win, scoring 52 isn't a fluke.

honestly I could care less. The midget will have a good rookie year until defenses figure him out....then you're looking at sub vince young numbers from there on out. Bridgewater will have a much better career since he can actually make a presnap read. So is Cleveland gonna adapt the duck n chuck offense?

That SEC footballl was a different time.  Those QB's you mentioned are garbage and are NFL 3rd string back up material at that time.  Wuerrfell, come on man, that guy had a weak arm.
