Absolutely agree.  First, there's a learning curve for rookies.  Second, even if Shorts was pushed to a backup role, Cecil isn't highly paid.  You still keep him for depth or three wide sets.  I do think he's as good as gone at the end of the season.

As long as he is suspended, Blackmon doesn't count as part of the 53 man roster.  If he was reinstated (which doesn't seem likely, but it is possible), the Jags would find a roster spot for him..  He's that talented.

 

As for Mike Brown, yes, barring an injury to another receiver, he's gone.
