Be honest, are you thinking playoffs?

If we don't go at least 14-2 this year, I will view the season as a major disappointment.

No. Bortles isn't ready and Henne sucks.

Probably better off for the long term of the franchise anyway. Go 5-11 or 6-10, grab a top-10 pick, and then skyrocket up the standings and into the playoffs in '15.

Quote:This. I really feel like he's the cog that is going to make it all come together. Our new guys allow us to line him up inside more when he gets back where he is absolutely deadly. I really, really hope he gets reinstated.

He will get reinstated at some point. I just really hope that Gus and Dave give him another chance and don't just cut him when he's reinstated. It's usually the one more and you're done that finally gets through to someone. Blackmon in the slot would be a 1400+ yard receiver with a competent QB.

This year is about growing and competing. Next year we should be in the hunt. Before the draft I was thinking 5-7 wins. I'm still thinking 5-7 wins, hopefully more toward the 7 wins with the arrow pointing way up.

Not for next year, no. Still a lot of holes, and these rookies have to grow up. In 2015, I'd be disappointed if we weren't at least in the playoff picture (legitimately in it, not "half the league has to tie for us to get in") until the very last game of the season. I'm hoping for a playoff appearance in 2015.

Anything is possible.

Realistically it is 2015.

Just as he D had to learn to play together last year, they again have new cogs that need to mesh.

Fortunnately there are vets coming in and a solid rotation if we can add an additional LEO type.

The Offense is a recipie in progress and will have to spend some time (games) solidifying.

The O line is a work in progress and it will come together.

7-9 wins would be nice.

What I want to see is teams saying in 2015.  "Oh Carp, I hope we don't play the Jags again"

HeadSlap

When they have no time,  they think about it!

When they go down hard, they think about it!

Just watch Peyton, Andrew, Caep even Mr. Bundchen.

2016 at the earliest. And that's being optimistic.

No 2014. No 2015.

Not every player you draft is going to work out. That's not the world we live in.

I think our D will be solid and our offense should start clicking the second half of the year.

I wouldn't bet on it, but I wouldn't be surprised if we were in the mix late in the season.

I think by the second half of this season, this team will begin to be a challenge to other teams.

I think Henne will be better this year if his support stays relatively healthy. He gets maybe 6 wins. 2015 I see playoff contention if we have another good FA and draft. I certainly don't expect many double digit blowouts like last year. This team is going to be fun to watch once again.

No.  I'm not thinking playoffs.  Jesus Christ these guys haven't even hit the field.

BORTLES ISN'T A FRANCHISE QB. FOURNETTE WILL BE A BUST.

This team has no leadership and little consideration for a NFL-caliber running game. The back-up RB we got from the Vikings isn't even included in the OP.

Face it, with Jedd Fisch running his college-level offense opposing pro teams face a simple challenge of total recall of their own college careers. Even if it takes a quarter to gear down to our level, they do adjust and win. They are simply more talented than the team David Caldwell elects to produce.

It's too bad that the private meetings between the really talented blue-chip pro prospects and Jaguars officials are never recorded. One gets the feeling the solid pros tell them not to even think about drafting them. We're big-time losers in a small market. Football players that want to win never want to play for a loser. The draft forces them to.

This is the NFL. We really don't have much patience with chump coaches too chicken to find the best talent possible and unwilling to run off 4-12 chumps. Bradley and Co. will continue to stand on the sideline with their thumbs up their kazoos trying to figure out pro football. He is going to be added to the stock-pile of former Jaguars head coaches sooner than later.

Until something changes inside the Jaguars' front office I expect the Jaguars to continue with the 4-12 effort.

Bortles will be the opening day starter. They are simply lying through their teeth to placate Henne.

I would chill out with the trolling/spamming if I were you because you may be banned as early as today when we make our other picks that you don't like.

Agree on the QBs, but I'm hoping for a little better than 5 or 6 wins.

Good draft so far, but unless Bortles is the guy starting the Jaguars are still headed for a losing season. Henne just doesn't have what it takes.

If it turns out Bortles is ready to go early then the Jaguars could win a few more games than I first thought.

I still see us going 9-7 this year. We will just miss the playoffs.

Look at the teams in the play-offs last year. Are we on a level par with any of them? I wouldn't say so. This season, I really don't think we'll get into them. What I do expect, is a better season than the last.
