Exactly.  They come over here and squat on our board, throw garbage out there, then just expect Jag fans to agree?

Quote:nah, i think the texans botched the draft hard. starting with the clowney pick and then at the end of rd 1 when the vikings stole teddy.
Teddy was never targeted to be a Texan. I think Jimmy Garoppolo was stolen from us, but O'Brien handled that in his own way. If Teddy fell to #33, X Sua Filo would still have been our pick.

did bob mcnair call you and tell you that or bill o brien? every texan fans justifies the vikings coming up to 32 and taking teddy by saying with 100% certainty "teddy was never a target for us." ok, im sure teddy as a steal at 33 or 32 wasnt a target for you. thats why the vikings jumped the texans to get him, right?

I think you need express written consent with Coltswarriors before showing him on a message board.

Quote:Hell Tom Brady wasn't even the driving force behind the Pats early SB wins.. he was a caretaker early on.
Dude you can't be serious, you think they benched Bledsoe cause Brady was just OK?

I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but his drafts have been lousy for the most part in the past decade, and this year's draft is a real head scratcher too. Easley, might've been a top 15 pick if not for the ACL, but that's a big issue, especially if that's his 2nd ACL, not good value IMO. We gotta 2nd round caliber CB in the 4th round coming off his only ACL tear. And Jimmy G really doesn't make sense, they could've got WR help or got a legit center prospect like Martin instead of Stork. Instead they get a developmental guy who may never be a starter.

If Belichick had better recent track record with drafting good players, I would give him the benefit of the doubt, but this draft just looks like another stinker.

Did Bob or Bill call you to tell you otherwise? I'm working with the same info you are, and it leads me to believe Bridgewater was NOT a Texans target. I'm not every Texans fan, I'm only one. Vikings jumped us for Bridgewater because apparently they didn't want to gamble on the fact we would take him. But like you and I and everyone else not associated with the Texans front office, they had no clue.

I already conceded that Jimmy was more than likely the Texans main QB target and was taken before he could fall to us without us trading up and reaching, so I have no idea why you are so adamant that Bridgewater was also a target other then you really just want to latch onto the idea that the Vikings somehow punked the Texans. He wasn't and they didn't. I mentioned on this board a month before the drafts that Bridgewater wasn't even on O'Briens radar.

FYI, if it where up to me, I'd have Bridgewater in a Texans uniform before Savage as I do NOT like Savage as our draft pick. But everything I have read/watched/heard leading up to the draft tell me that Bridgewater was not a target for Texans QB. Unless you spent your offseason studying Texans moves/interviews/news, then perhaps you should just trust that I did, and these where my findings.

the months leading up to the draft did you think bortles would be our pick? or that buffalo would trade up to take watkins? no one had a clue whose targets were whose. we will never know. i just dont like that you or anyone else says with certainty that the texans were not thinking about taking teddy at 33.

Lets back up a minute and re-read what I said.

"If I understand correctly, the Texans front office understood that Clowney was the best talent in this draft, but because he wasn't a perfect fit in Romeos defense, they where willing to trade the rights to draft him if offered an ample amount of picks to offset his value. If not, drafting him is still quite a consolation prize.

That being said, I don't believe Bridgewater was ever targeted by the Texans (just the fans really) so Minnesota didn't steal him from us. However, Garoppolo was our target and new England took him before us to force our hand in trading 4 and 5 for Mallet. Instead, O'Brien basically said FU and drafted New Englands tight end target Fiederowics. In addition, instead of trading for Mallet, O'Brien continued to say FU by trading the 4 and 5 instead to move back up for Nix, effectively leaving New England with 3 QB's in the roster, and Houston without the draft picks to trade."

We are all working on opinions here. I understand where you are coming from and I never meant it to sound like I was speaking fact.

And to answer your question, NO. I never thought the Jags would select Bortles over Clowney/Bridgewater. But I also didn't follow Jags news as much as Texans news, so in this situation I would defer to Jags fans.

Sounds like the Mallet trade might be alive and well.....

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...l-possible

Beginning to think BoB stuck it to the Patriots by taking their tight end. Trade bait? I hope not,I like Fiedorowicz.

And since the Pats have to deal Mallet I'd make em pay through the nose. Like a fourth round pick next year.

The Titans O-Line is going to make for a great running attack IMO. The two tackles that I project to start are great all-round talents. I think the interior of the line is better at run-blocking (though Levitre is good at both pass pro and run block).

Roos-Levitre-Schwenke-Warmack-Lewan

Even a Jags fan has to admit that is solid as heck. Pick up Bishop Sankey in your fantasy league people!

The problem with assuming Houston was targeting Teddy is that you have to be operating on the assumption that the Texans front office is incompetent.  Any homeless guy could have called it that Seattle would trade out of that pick to a QB needy team so I feel as if Houston would have had an open channel with Seattle to beat any offer they got or if they didn't want to play ball, find a team in front of them to trade with and get their guy if it was to truly be Teddy.

I find it much more likely than not that Houston had no interest in Teddy.

This morning, Peter King talked about several teams trying to trade up to 22 to get Manzier.  I'd find it much more feasible that Houston was one of those teams than believing they didn't anticipate someone would jump in at 32 and take a QB.

I don't think it's debatable that Indy had the worst draft in the division. The lack of a first rounder solidifies it. That said, they are the only team in the division with a proven QB and I liked some of their offseason moves. They will likely win the division again, so hate all you want. I wasn't as thrilled with Tennessee's draft as others were. Houston had a solid draft, but Savage is a wild card. Lots of potential, but can he put it all together? That said, here are my grades:

Indy: I

Jax: I

Houston: I

Tennessee: I

They all gotta show it on Sundays. You can't grade drafts for at least 2 years. Which is why we know without question how many Fs the Jags had in the past decade.
Only a chump boos the home team!
