Robert Mathis suspended

Quote:Ya, and I wasn't. Again, you wont have the same roiding-Robert Mathis from last year. So, those "stats" will go down. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Again, you wont have the same roiding-Robert Mathis from last year. So, those "stats" will go down. Yep...if the "meds" weren't the cause then he should have the same numbers this year!
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
Quote:I don't believe his explanation for a second. In vitro fertilization would have been the method to use if this was the case. He got caught juicing. He has twins, which they did in-vitro with the first time. They wanted to go a more "normal" pregnancy route. Which is very common in relationships that have fertility problems. Quote:Again, you wont have the same roiding-Robert Mathis from last year. So, those "stats" will go down. Once again, like I said I was talking about the team as a whole, not Mathis individually. Also, Mathis's doctor stated he only took the drug for 10 days (enough to get his wife pregnant), which if is the case, isn't going to have a major affect on his game. Quote: Mathis's doctor stated he only took the drug for 10 days (enough to get his wife pregnant), which if is the case, isn't going to have a major affect on his game.If that's the case, it is indeed pretty cut and dried. He took a substance which is illegal under the collective bargaining agreement. The why may not make a difference. If you, as a fan, are so staunchly behind his decision, doesn't it make better sense to just say that he chose family over a job and leave it at that? That is your position, right? Hell, who are we to knock that? The guy has made more than enough money to take care of himself and his for life, so if he chooses to do something that may affect 4 games, I repeat games, of his career, who are we to judge? In the same breath, who are you to discount though? It is what it is. He chose family over football for 4 games, big deal. Most players do a whole lot worse to get themselves suspended. It's really not worth defending this thing, at least if what you say is indeed the case.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Just another reason why the NFL and the NFLPA needs to come to some type of agreement in regards to HGH testing. Once they move forward with that there will be no room for sorry excuses like this.
Fertility? Really Mathis?

I guess Mathis isn't on this team you're speaking about. Mathis and his 19.5 played no part in the success of the Colts. You guys may as well cut him. After all, everything will stay the same, right? So, Mathis said that he can't release very much information because its medical information but he gives the doctor the go-ahead to release information? We're really to believe that Mathis, who has a "fertility problem" simply took a drug from 10 days and his wife became pregnant? I may be mistaken, but I don't think the FDA even suggests using Clomid for MALE fertility. Besides, I guess it's a coincidence that the use of steroids causes low sperm count? That couldn't be the reason why Mathis and his wife were unable to conceive.

No need to communicate with someone who doesn't have a 3rd grade reading comprehension level.

That's big coming from you. You said the TEAM has improved. I ADDED that the absence of Mathis will hurt the TEAM. Mathis is, probably, the best player on the Colts. His absence and the future "random" drug testing will likely keep Mathis off the juice for a while. The team will not improve without him. Therefore, the Colts are not improving. I didn't think I needed to explain that to you. I'll remember this when I talk to you in the future.

Quote:You do realize those 4 games can make or break your season, right? Losing Mathis for the 1st 4 games will not make or break the Colts season. Will not having Mathis for the 1st 4 games hurt? Absolutely, but it will not make or break the Colts season. Now if he played the QB position...
If this is true I really feel for the guy (even if he is a Colt). It's unfortunate that there are as many players who skirt these rules as there are because it makes it difficult to tell what's true or not. If his alabi is accurate I really wish he had informed the league.
Coltswarriors, that might be actually be a blessing in disguise. 4 fewer games to possibly encounter a season ending injury.
The more I read about it, it looks like a bunch of hooey.
He knew what he was taking and that it was on the banned substance list. Why the "I'm innocent" act ? It just makes him come across as more guilty. He's lucky to have only gotten a four game suspension.
Because Jaguars is our mantra

Guys like this deserve the Barry Bonds treatment. At least a year suspension is warranted.
Quote:The more I read about it, it looks like a bunch of hooey. Not sure he's played the "I'm innocent" act? He's admitted to taking it for a short period of time (which makes him guilty), however he states that it wasn't to improve his game, obviously.

Then why did his agent just make another statement in response to the NFL's? He went with the tried and true, just because the FDA doesn't say it works for men, doesn't mean that he wont try it. We both know he took that to cover up something. He'd be better off just not saying a word and moving on. His agent is the one pushing the issue, and Mathis needs to tell him to shut up.

Mathis should have kept his yap shut, and he should have told his agent to put a sock in it.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Oldest trick in the book. Admit what you can't deny (positive result.) Deny what you can't admit (positive result due to use for performance enhancing.)
Quote:Oldest trick in the book. Unless he was telling the truth. I have no idea whether he was telling the truth, but it's always an easy go-to for fans (mostly rival fans) to assume he's lying. |
