Todman was better last year, but according to Bradley, this coaching staff is going to try to excel in player development, so when it comes to a backup RB, they might lean towards potential, and that is probably Robinson.

Jerry Sullivan and Bill Parcells are old friends. They broke into coaching together as position coaches at Texas Tech in the 1970s. Also on that coaching staff were Romeo Crennel, fomer NYG/ current Cowboys TE coach Mike Pope (considered the best TE coach in the game). Parcells also has a gigantic retirement home outside of Jupiter.


Wouldn't be surprised to see Parcells back during training camp. A lot of those old school guys like to bring in their buddies to scout out a few practices to provide their insights into personnel. Parcells used to bring in Chuck Fairbanks and Ron Wolf all the time to Cowboys training camp just as a sounding board on opinions on players.

For anybody that was out there yesterday, I think this goes without saying. The buzz is real. I have been to dozens of camp sessions since they opened the new practice fields ten years ago or so. I have never seen anything close to what we saw yesterday. It was awesome. People are genuinely excited about the direction of the franchise.

Had to move away from Deltona, Fl 3 years ago after having season tix for 6 years. I really wish I was there now because this rebuild feels very special. You don't realize what you have till it's gone and I miss going to the games sooooo much. All you jags fans in Fl should make every attempt at going to the games because this is a historical time for the franchise. We'll look back in 10 years and say this was the turning point worst in the league to the best. OK Jags fan for life!!!!!!!!!

Todman was noticably the best RB on the roster last year by a significant margin, particularly on outside zone stretch.   Those impressive  explosion metrics that he put up during his Combine were evident, because he's got a pretty dynamic burst .  

 

 Also, you can't just solely judge ypc until you take into account down and distance and how many defenders they were in the box against.   A lot of nickel backs have padded ypc because they  take the draw for 8 yards on 3rd and 12 against a dime defense  as the team concedes to punt.   

 

I think Robinson is a longshot to make the roster.   I had hopes for him if he could be a dynamic returner, play slot and play some RB ... maybe a player like that can warrant a game day activation who could provide depth to multiple positions.  However, now that he's strictly a RB, I think the odds are stacked against him.   #3 RBs who can't contribute 15-20 snaps  on special teams and can't pass protect are virtually useless.    Backup role RBs are a dime a dozen,  there's no point in keeping one on the roster who's going to knock your QB out for the season because he didn't pick up his blitz assignment.
