Quote:If you're referring to the Poltergeist remake, they'll NEVER top the original.. NEVER.. If anything, they'll just add to the legacy if its done right.

I do agree that a lot or remakes are pretty cheesy though. But there's some real decent ones too. Last House on the Left was an awesome movie as an original. The remake was just as good in my opinion. There's another one called I Spit on Your Grave too. The original was awesome, the remake was really good too.

Footloose, Endless Love, Amityville Horror, Planet of the Apes...I could go on with all the crappy remakes they've done recently!!

Is that the one where the boys from Deliverance rape the woman out in the woods and she gets back at them?

Rob Zombie's Halloween remakes were outstanding. Absolutely loved how he went into Michael Myers childhood and told the story of his beginnings.

It's the added gore that I didn't appreciate. The original was scary without over the top blood and guts.

Somewhere along the line, blood and gore became known as 'horror movies'. Give me bump-in-the-night, creepy kind of stuff, any day. That's a horror movie.

You mean me getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom is now a horror movie?

Yeah... I can see that.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

You can actually catalog horror movies into sub genres. Blood and gore can actually be catagorized into the Saw and Hostile type of horror genre while you have others that fall into the paranormal, psychological and slasher genres. Blood and gore will always have room in the horror genre as a whole, it just may not be your cup of tea. Personally, I prefer the paranormal and psychological types of horror. Messes with the mind..

Personally, I'm a huge horror movie fanatic. I own thousands of them. I have everything from the original Bela Lugosi 1931 Dracula to Charlie Brown's Halloween Special. Love all aspects of horror.

Somebody had been nuking some kind of Mexican food in the break room microwave. It sure smelled good in there.

I'm so embarrassed to admit this, but the Footloose remake was on FX the other night and ended up watching about half way to the end of it. I didn't hate it, now I've never seen the originals and I hated Grease, but for some odd reason I just didn't "hate" the footloose remake. I wouldn't rush out to watch it again...........
