Quote:Just as it is for his fans to dig in their heals and believe everything he's saying... Yup. Exactly. No one really knows.
Quote:Losing Mathis for the 1st 4 games will not make or break the Colts season. Will not having Mathis for the 1st 4 games hurt? Absolutely, but it will not make or break the Colts season. DE may be the second most important position in football. His absence is going to hurt the Colts. Besides, you guys likely wont get the same Mathis from last year. While you may believe he only ran a 10-day cycle, I believe he was running one for a while.
Quote:Yup. Exactly. No one really knows. If it were a Jaguar player, you'd be the first one to pile on that he was covering up the use of steroids....but its a Colts player, so he's obviously a really good, clean guy.
Quote:Is it? Edison Volquez used the same excuse a few years ago Quote:"Prior to the conclusion of last season, my wife and I sought medical advice in Cincinnati with the hope of starting a family… As part of my consultation with the physician, I received certain prescribed medications to treat my condition. As a follow up to our original consultation, my wife and I visited another physician in our home city in the Dominican Republic this past off-season. This physician also gave me certain prescribed medications as part of my treatment. Unfortunately, I now know that the medication the physician in the Dominican gave me is one that is often used to treat my condition, but is also a banned substance under Major League Baseball's drug policy. As a result, I tested positive when I reported to Spring Training." We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
dont you guys know that defensive linemen/linebackers usually get better around the age of 32/33? why would an aging player take steroids when hes just hitting his prime?
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

While you may believe he only ran a 10-day cycle, I believe he was running one for a while. Of course you do. Just like I don't. Like I said earlier, no one really knows outside of Mathis or his doctor. Quote:If it were a Jaguar player, you'd be the first one to pile on that he was covering up the use of steroids....but its a Colts player, so he's obviously a really good, clean guy. Actually, no I probably wouldn't. How often do you see me get into other teams problems? I don't post about the Jags, Texans, or Titans, especially in a thread made for them. Go ahead. Go find where I've done that.
Quote:Of course you do. Just like I don't. Like I said earlier, no one really knows outside of Mathis or his doctor. Let me rephrase....you may not post about it, but your opinion would be extremely different if it wasn't a Colts player. Robert Mathis is a good player, and he's trying to keep it that way.
Quote: Nope, still not necessarily true. It just depends on who it was. If it was Brad Meester (I know he's not on your team anymore, but first 'good' person that comes to mind), I would likely think he was telling the truth and that he got hosed. Same way I feel with Robert until proven otherwise... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Mathis when he comes off the roids. That's just wrong!!

Mathis has certainly been in the league long enough to know the protocols for getting an exemption and consulting with the team doctor, and long enough to know the ramifications for testing positive. Why would he not follow the protocols?
Quote:Of course you do. Just like I don't. Like I said earlier, no one really knows outside of Mathis or his doctor. If Mathis was telling the truth, I wouldn't have a problem with what he's doing. The problem here is that we have a 33-year-old with 11 years in the league. He had a gradual decline in performance since 2010 until he blew up last year. Now his agent is the loudest one in the room. It all just goes together. Obviously, anything short of Mathis admitting it wont sway your opinion, but I think everything supports an attempt to get better. How many years does he have left on his contract? Quote:If Mathis was telling the truth, I wouldn't have a problem with what he's doing. I believe 3. Quote:If Mathis was telling the truth, I wouldn't have a problem with what he's doing. I concur, Mathis did seem to excel at linebacker in a 3-4 defense, even though he was still quite good as a 4-3 defensive end. Probably another coke head, too.
Mathis has been in the league long enough, sat through enough seminars on testing, and is smart enough to know that any chemical you put in your body needs to be cleared BY THE LEAGUE! Playing dumb after getting caught is just further damaging his reputation.

This isn't a normal infertility drug for men. It is designed for women. In men it treats infertility caused by taking steroids.
The guy couldn't have kids because he was juicing. There is a reason this drug is banned by the world anti-doping agency. It's a widely published list. There was no ignorance. He was just betting it would be out of his system before he got tested.
Quote:If Robert's statement is real, I don't really blame him much. I do fault him for not checking in with the NFL & NFLPA which is 100% his fault, but trying to get his wife pregnant? I don't really thinks that's a big deal.while I believe what he says may be true at the end of the day these players gotta know what they are putting in there bodies. that sucks if his doctor misinformed him but as he said himself he should have checked with the NFL.
