Losing Mathis for the 1st 4 games will not make or break the Colts season. Will not having Mathis for the 1st 4 games hurt? Absolutely, but it will not make or break the Colts season.

 

Now if he played the QB position...

 

DE may be the second most important position in football. His absence is going to hurt the Colts. Besides, you guys likely wont get the same Mathis from last year. While you may believe he only ran a 10-day cycle, I believe he was running one for a while.

Nope, still not necessarily true. It just depends on who it was. If it was Brad Meester (I know he's not on your team anymore, but first 'good' person that comes to mind), I would likely think he was telling the truth and that he got hosed. Same way I feel with Robert until proven otherwise...

Mathis has certainly been in the league long enough to know the protocols for getting an exemption and consulting with the team doctor, and long enough to know the ramifications for testing positive. Why would he not follow the protocols?

Now his agent is the loudest one in the room. It all just goes together. Obviously, anything short of Mathis admitting it wont sway your opinion, but I think everything supports an attempt to get better.

I concur, Mathis did seem to excel at linebacker in a 3-4 defense, even though he was still quite good as a 4-3 defensive end.

Mathis has been in the league long enough, sat through enough seminars on testing, and is smart enough to know that any chemical you put in your body needs to be cleared BY THE LEAGUE! Playing dumb after getting caught is just further damaging his reputation.

This isn't a normal infertility drug for men. It is designed for women. In men it treats infertility caused by taking steroids.

There is a reason this drug is banned by the world anti-doping agency. It's a widely published list. There was no ignorance. He was just betting it would be out of his system before he got tested.

If Robert's statement is real, I don't really blame him much. I do fault him for not checking in with the NFL & NFLPA which is 100% his fault, but trying to get his wife pregnant? I don't really thinks that's a big deal.

while I believe what he says may be true at the end of the day these players gotta know what they are putting in there bodies. that sucks if his doctor misinformed him but as he said himself he should have checked with the NFL.
