Florida State Vs. Clemson

#1

Was just announced today that this will be an 8PM nationally televised game (not that we didn't already know it was gonna be an 8pm kick).

I'm really excited for this game. I think it will be the game of the year in the ACC, and one of the top games of this football season. A huge game with huge title implications. The winner is clearly in the driver's seat to win the Atlantic, and has a good chance to play for a national title.

The only thing that makes me nervous about this game is that it is an 8 o'clock kickoff. Death Valley is already a tough place to play as it is, but that place at night is as good as any atmosphere in the country.

Jameis has been unbelievable so far, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the environment and the pressure.

What's the date of that game? Man, that's going to be a good one.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

If we win by 21, it would be hard to not start thinking about a possible appearance in Pasadena. With that said, you're crazy if you think we win by three scores. This game will be a battle to the end.

I dont think there is any way you keep Clemson under 30.  If FSU does, they deserve the win.

That's what i think...our defense is starting to come together....they changed things up a lil bit for the Maryland game.....I think we'll be able to get to Tajh Boyd and rattle him...We're better than Georgia  that's for sure...Maybe it's the fan in me,  but i think we'll be able to create turnovers and pull away late in the 3rd Qtr - 4th Qtr.

If we can create turnovers, which so far we've proven that in this new system we can, then I can definitely see us pulling away. I just don't see our defense getting to Boyd unless we blitz a lot. So far, our defensive line hasn't proven that it can get constant pressure like last year's.

Turnovers will be huge. I don't think Clemson's defense can stop our offense. However, I see a similar gameplan for Clemson as they ran last year with lots of trick plays. So if we can get 1-2 turnovers, I think it's definitely advantage FSU, even in that environment.

I think Clemson takes it but I hope Fl St. does because we need yall to be ranked as high as possible when we beat you

I am definitely looking forward to this game. I asked my wife yesterday what was going on that day. Everything is clear to watch it, so I was happy about that.

This will be the first test for FSU. They will not have seen this level of play all season. Offense, defense, special teams, every position. They haven't seen any position group as a whole near as good as Clemson. Lots riding on it for both teams. Usually makes for a special night.

FSU is better than I originally thought at the beginning of the season, but I still don't think they have the defense to stop Clemson's up-tempo offense. Just way too many weapons. Roderick McDowell should be healthy, Martavis Bryant, Sammy Watkins, Adam Humphries, Mike Williams, and of course, Tajh Boyd. I thought Clemson's offense really came together against Syracuse this past week. They appear to finally be in mid season form. The defense is improved from last season, but they're very vulnerable to the big play in the running game. I think this comes from a combination of undersized DEs and an inexperienced secondary. There are some promising young players along the defensive line, though. All in all, I think it'll be a pretty high scoring affair, with Clemson coming out on top. It's tough to beat Clemson in Death Valley.

Clemson - 45

Florida State - 35

Posted it in the other thread but I'll post it here too. Key matchups for the game.

Key matchup for FSU:

-FSU's offensive line vs. Clemson's defensive line

This will be the biggest test so far this season for our offensive line. Can Erving hold is own against the leading sack man in the country? Can the offensive line help get the running game going? Can they keep Jameis on his feet for most of the night? If not, it could turn ugly pretty quick.

Key matchup for Clemson:

-Clemson's passing game vs. FSU's secondary

Statistically, FSU has a top five passing defense IIRC, but they haven't faced an attack like this. I don't believe Clemson will have much success running the football, not just because of our defense, but from what I've read from Clemson fans all week on here. Can FSU hold their own against Clemson's high powered, big play offense? We know Morris will have some tricks up his sleeve, but can our corners keep Sammy and co. in check? I think FSU's secondary will get 1-2 INTs, but Sammy will probably do what Sammy does, especially if he's healthy.

I still stand by my prediction made earlier in the week. I'm going:

FSU-45

Clemson-31

I don't think the crowd will phase Jameis at all. I think our defense will force turnovers as I said above. And I think FSU will be able to run the ball and control the clock, and Jameis and the receivers will keep clicking.

One.more.day. Is it Saturday night yet?

We need to run the ball a lot tomorrow night.  Take away clemson biggest asset on defense.  Then set them up for big play action passes.  That should be the game plan.

This should be a good game. I'm hoping to get a bunch of people together to watch it with me. The ACC is making quite a showing this season.
