Yes, Davis had a total of one sack last year and he got it on a stunt against the Texans. That still doesn't show a lack of skill on Andres' part, in fact just the opposite.

Comparing him to a third string DE isn't foolish considering he's going to be a backup this year. He isn't starting over Babin/Clemmons and I'd bet that Chris Smith passes him on the depth chart come August. 

 

Yeah Babin and Clemons will be ahead of him on the depth chart, but that doesn't prove him a scrub. It just means we will finally have some DEPTH. I know that for Jags fans that's a pretty hard concept to grasp, but just because someone might not be the starter it doesn't automatically render them useless, nor does it mean that they suck.

And the QB held onto the ball in that sack, and it wasn't a stunt that Davis was running, it was a straight speed rush. Meanwhile, Andre Branch was getting doubled. Same story on the third play.

Branch will most likely be a second stringer. Second string DE's still get quite a lot of playing time.

5 sacks in his last 7 games. It's pretty obvious that the light came on and that they were able to find ways to get him involved. Like I said that's on pace for 11.5 in a season, which hasn't happened in Jacksonville in about 10 years or so. He doesn't suck at all, he's got a lot of upside as evidenced by his improvement and he will be a nice part of their rotation at LEO.

And he's been giving high praise this offeseaon which included him being singled out as one of the top performers by Gus. 10 sacks is attainable right?

We rotate guys in and out all the time.  The only DE who exceeded his production in sack numbers last year was Babin.  Nobody else despite the fact that according to your less than intellectual opinion, it's plug and play.  Anyone could get those stats.  Now you're tap dancing around it saying third stringers don't play, and you're using profanity to put an exclamation point on it.  Seriously, you're not smart.  Not even close.
