Shorts on Blackmon

Quote:You mean the "Draconian Contract" that was set to pay him tens of millions of dollars over a few years? Quote:Draconian contract? That's funny stuff right there.Maybe I'm mistaken but I remember there was some sort of language in the contract that nullified the guarantees if he slipped up in relation to the beast (alcohol). If so, in essence it's draconian We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Maybe I'm mistaken but I remember there was some sort of language in the contract that nullified the guarantees if he slipped up in relation to the beast (alcohol). If so, in essence it's draconian That's hardly draconian. That's boilerplate if you're talking about a multimillion dollar contract that has a significant amount of guaranteed money tied to it. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:I tried to tell you guys... Nobody listens anymore.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

If so, in essence it's draconian Draconian? Seriously? If they said "don't touch a hot stove" and the kid touches a hot stove the contract is done. How much more simple of analogy is that? Blackomon had his chance and made his choice. Now he has to own up to the consequences of that choice. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. For those wondering if the Jags could cut Blackmon while serving his suspension the answer is yes.
Quote:The league office confirmed today via email that if the Jaguars wanted to cut receiver Justin Blackmon today, it could instead of waiting for him to be reinstated. http://m.jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/544821/ryan-ohalloran/2014-06-02/league-jaguars-could-cut-justin-blackmon-while-hes

My first thought when reading this thread's title was wondering why anyone cared that Justin was seen wearing shorts.

He probably wants release so he can pick his own team upon reinstatement. Imagine Blackmon and TY Hilton catching ball from Luck in 2015. Blackmon & Dez in Dallas ?? Don't laugh -- If you're Blackmon .... why not ? He could get paid as a Free Agent and pick who he wants to play for (unless I'm missing something like him having to go through waivers)......
We should do him no favors and not cut him.

Quote:We should do him no favors and not cut him. While I agree, I think we'd then we have to pay his bonus in it's entirety. It's a catch 22 for us.
Quote:He'd have to go thru waivers. Ok --- that's better. Oh wait, is Houston #1 on the waiver wire?????
His bonus is well worth it if hes playing. no reason to cut him

Well, thats one of the reasons you do not cut him. Sets a bad precedent, too. Quote:Ok --- that's better. Oh wait, is Houston #1 on the waiver wire????? The heart of tequila country? He wouldn't survive a day.

I don't see a problem with that, or any sort of catch 22 situation. If he's not reinstated, he's costing this team nothing. He's not even occupying a roster spot. Never argue with idiots.
