<p class="">Gus says Henne, Shorts and Branch stand out among players who've been most consistent. Quote: All from previous regime. Fire Dave.
Quote:All from previous regime. Fire Dave. The curious thing is the Branch inclusion. Can you really tell much in shorts & shells regarding the DL?
When is the next practice open to the public?? I remember seeing June 19th for the veteran's mini camp, but can't seem to find anything now??

Quote:When is the next practice open to the public?? I remember seeing June 19th for the veteran's mini camp, but can't seem to find anything now?? I believe that is correct. They'll probably start promoting it later this week. I know there was at least one more practice that was going to be open to the public after the success with the rookie camp and the OTA session. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
That's not a veteran mini-camp, BTW. It's a mandatory mini-camp for all players that runs 6/17-6/19.

M Brown, A Sanders and J Evans all began easing back in to practice yesterday - doing drills off to the side with helmets. (per oehser)

Quote:M Brown, A Sanders and J Evans all began easing back in to practice yesterday - doing drills off to the side with helmets. (per oehser)I heard on the radio yesterday that if this were a game week, most of those WRs would be on the field. The team is taking the cautious approach with these smaller nagging injuries. They are being sensible by letting these minor issues completely heal so they don't become a season long problem. They are just doing the smart thing with these guys. After all, it is just OTAs.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Quote:The curious thing is the Branch inclusion. Can you really tell much in shorts & shells regarding the DL? I think you can tell some things, but other guys will stand out when the pads go on. Even at the open OTA last week, you could tell that in a game situation, most of these guys would get on the field. It really is about protecting their guys during practices that aren't worth the risk of further injury. Let them heal up and get healthy for training camp. Never argue with idiots. Quote:I think you can tell some things, but other guys will stand out when the pads go on. You can tell some things, but we've heard about standouts at DE in these practices and even in training camp. When the games start, many disappear. I don't expect that with Branch, but we've had more than a few OTA/Camp studs over the years who didn't pan out. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

IIRC that was the case with guys in the past like Austen Lane I'd agree that I don't expect the that with Branch, either. I think Branch's progression/ production curve is legit. Quote:IIRC that was the case with guys in the past like Austen Lane It wasn't just Lane. James Wyche was a world beater in training camp. We've had quite a few guys who blew it up when the contat was limited or non-existent, but did nothing when the lights were on. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Yeah, Lane was just the first one to come to mind....Wyche is another good example there, as is Hawkins! ^^^

Exactly. Camp wonders are limitless. Unfortunately, they never panned out when the pads went on.

Quote:Exactly. Camp wonders are limitless. Unfortunately, they never panned out when the pads went on. I remember several WR camp wonders in the mid-late '00's.... but can't quite remember their names....Jeez early alzheimers must be settiling in, smh....
Yeah, there's an endless list of camp wonders at WR who did all the circus catches in camp and OTAs, but couldn't get on the field.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
