Jaguars OTAs news and notes

John Broussard was a tease. Looked amazing in camp and caught a major bomb on the first play of the season from David Garrard. After that play, Nobody ever heard from him again.

Kevin Elliott was a dude I was hoping panned out but maybe that was his affiliation with Fred Taylor.

Broussard had his moments in games too though.  I think he had personality issues IIRC.

Quote:I remember seeing the film on him when we drafted him.  He looked quick, and he had a great move to shed tacklers on returns.

The first time we saw him on the field, it was clear he wasn't nearly as quick as he'd appeared in the film, and that move he made might elude the first tackler, but he wasn't running away from anyone after that.

He was so eager to make the first guy miss, he'd end up missing the ball in the process.

Good for him that he made it in Canada.

On a side note... not only did Chad Owens train MMA, he won his only fight.

Quote:Tiquan Underwood was another guy who flashed in training camp with his speed and maneuverability. That worked out well.
underwood has actually produced a bit for other teams. It was nice to see him have a little success.

The problem with Owens was on punt returns when the ball would hit him in the facemask.  lol  It happened multiple times.

Yeah, that pesky face mask did give him fits.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Broussard was injured on that play.  He laid out making a diving catch, and that was all she wrote.

Quote:Hankton at least had a couple of nice TDs IIRC.

And yes, I remember him from TC.  He looked like he could be a star.

Very smooth athlete.
Yup.  It just never quite clicked for him when he got on the field.  They'd bring him in to rotate out receivers, and he'd make a play here or there.  When he finally got his break, he couldn't take the field.  Guy had some bad luck.

Amazingly, he has managed to stick around the league for a few years now.  That speed is just too much to pass up on for some teams I guess.

Makes you wonder what's so different about the CFLs facemasks.  After taking off for the Great White North, he's put himself in the pro football record books.

Chad is gonna be a very good quarterback this year based on the interviews he has had. I am perplexed but not buying in.

He might start for Carolina this year. Who would have thought that he'd have a longer NFL career than Mike Thomas or Jarret Dillard.

It's got to be the hair.  I haven't seen hair like that since Cameo was cranking out videos in the 80's.
