Maybe you and Sammy K could cruise A1A some day.

On the day I was born,

The nurses all gathered 'round

And they gazed in wide wonder

At the joy they have found

The head nurse spoke up

Said "leave this one alone"

She could tell right away..

That I was Bald to the Bone..

Obviously I don't watch as much Kouvaris as you guys do. I only catch him on occasion. I had no idea he was so vainglorious.

Sam is a professional broadcaster, but he's a sports guy. I think he forgets that at times as he's big timing folks around town.
I used to like Sam more, before I met him. I played in a 40 and over baseball league with him and it became clear to me very quickly that his biggest fan was him.

They say similar personalities clash. That explains why Alfie Crow doesn't like him.

I like Hicken and Martineau the most.

I like Chad Cushnir.  The kid is a hard worker and does a lot of the smaller sports stories around town.  I thik he pushes to get those on air.  Good for him.

I've met him a few times. Nice guy. Probably a very hard worker. Not great on camera.

And Porter is just a bozo. Trying to too hard to be Stuart Scott.

This I can agree with.  The ESPN guys do it with a smooth delivery....Porter looks like he's trying really hard.

This is exactly why I don't like him.

I remember one of the regulars calling into Hicken/Prosser's show one morning talking about Porter.  Hicken just kept his mouth shut as this caller just hammered Porter for his "rooooooooolllllll that video tape" and other things he said on air that were just painful.  You could hear Dan squirming as he tried to avoid giving an opinion, and this was when he was still working at FCN.  It hasn't gotten any better now that it's the Porter/Cush show.  Ugh!  Horribad.

Cush is to TV what Hacker is to radio.

It says something about the Jacksonville on air talent when Hacker cohosts a show. He is somewhat knowledgeable but he speaks in cliches too much and his voice is just AWFUL. I normally listen to 1010xl all day until he comes on and then I switch over to Pandora.

Yeah, his show is a quick jab at the Bose remote for me.  I can't listen to him for more than a few seconds before his voice starts to annoy me.

I am fully convinced that his dad must own part of the station. No other explanation for why he is on the air. And his co-host Cowart is not much better.

I love the Jacksonville radio guys will bash soccer for being boring but can talk about golf for an hour.

Well, not to defend Joe Cowart, but his real day job is working with the PGA.  So, it is something he has a little bit of knowledge about.

It's not just him. It's Ballou, Frangie, Lamm, Prosser, Hicken. All of them. 1010XL is probably a profitable venture for someone. But they are so heavy on the 50 year old white guy perspective. Makes for boring radio.

And Lopez

Dont understand the bashing of Kovauris, one of the few locals along with Hicken who can give a honest opinion about the local sports culture here in Jax.

He wrote a good piece a couple of days ago about how the soccer event showed the passion of sports fans here in Jax.
