Sanders on roster bubble?
|
Hes probably being pushed at OTAS because it sounds like Jensen is turning heads.

He's likely safe for this upcoming season.
After that? I think he's likely gone. More TE talent will be brought in by camp 2015.

http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap2000000309618 He isnt on this top 12 TE list for Fantasy teams...
Does anyone have video of Jensen compared to Lewis? http://www.nfl.com/fantasyfootball/ranki...bset=pr-te Wow he's ranked 22nd out of all TEs in the league according to the link above.... yet paid 2nd highest in the NFL...
Jensen looks like he could be a nice find. But in no way is he going to threaten Lewis' spot on the roster.

On the other hand, the Jags probably need his salary to hit the Cap Floor... They have to spend at least 90% of the cap which the are far below now.
- M Lewis is moving the line of scrimmage at point of attack as a blocker - has value - helping run game
(you can bet no trade with 2 hours to go....) NYC4Jags posted on October 29, 2013 at 2:23pm.... and we all know the year that M. Lewis had last season. --------------------- What are the odds of trading M. Lewis this year?
Lewis isn't going anywhere this year. Jensen is a complimentary TE, but he's not going to supplant the veteran.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:No, they will stick with him because he was a rookie who has more upside than anyone else they'll bring off the street like Doss. He will get his chance again. So, if he's outperformed, and clearly isn't the best option, they'll stick with him? See, I don't think so. If one of the other guys on the roster he's competing with do indeed outperform him to the point where it's clear for anyone watching, he is in jeopardy. Again, I'm not saying he's going anywhere, but I'm not naive enough to think that if there is indeed a better player they can keep, that they're going to stick with him. There is a lot of competition this year at the WR spot. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

They could always trade M.Lewis to a team desperate for a TE that has a high player they dont need a position at such as Packers Tramon Williams (CB) making $6.9 Million. Do you think they would do a deal like that?

Quote:Jensen was a nice UDFA get. Fresno state thought enough of him to regularly split him wide, even though watching him, he didn't appear overly fast in what I saw. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Lewis will stay this year. He blocked his way to that rich contract and is nowhere near top 5 or even top 10 TE status. Cutting him wouldn't save much either due to the way its structured so we might as well keep his bum [BLEEP] here.
Who knows? Maybe he likes football again and does something this year? Quote:Lewis will stay this year. He blocked his way to that rich contract and is nowhere near top 5 or even top 10 TE status. Still, this team isn't in cap saving mode. They've got to spend up to the cap floor, so they've got to pay someone. His salary is irrelevant as long as he's effective in his role. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I guess I missed when he held a gun to Gene Smith's head.
Quote:He's having a good off season. We'll see how that translates. I gotta disagree with ya on that last sentence. Salary for every player needs to be at their performance level. Obviously this can't be the case for everyone but its something that needs to be strived for. Lewis is getting top 3 money so if he isn't putting out top 3 numbers then he needs to go. If we have to overpay a player, Lets do it for a top 5 Free agent at his position. Value is what keeps teams in the hunt year after year. Lewis represents the worst value/player situation we got going on at the moment. I hope that changes.
