I'd drink beer from a can 100 out of 100 times if the alternative was from a plastic bottle.

Quote:Regardng bourbon; The Woodford Reserve isn't really a small batch per se, but it's very good. Another that I would suggest to you, even though it isn't bourbon, is George Dickel #8. It's an incredibly smooth whiskey that very few people know about. Two others that you may like are Buffalo Trace and Four Roses; I prefer the Buffalo Trace myself, but you may think differently.

Buffalo Trace is a very good bourbon for the money.  I just recently embarked on a quest for a favorite bourbon.  I was always a Jim Beam drinker, but was wanting to try something better.  BT was the first I tried, and I really enjoyed it.  I'm currently on a bottle of Knob Creek small batch, which is very good.  I also want to try their single barrel at some point.

I recommend Basil Hayden, Blanton's,  Bulleit and Michters as well if you are looking to try a few good bourbons.

On the Tennessee side of things, the Dickel #12 is quite good. They make a nice Rye as well  - as do Michters and Bulleit.

One of my all time favorite whiskey cocktails:  (it's great with the Dickel rye whiskey and definitely add a small dash of bitters)

On the bourbon, I'm going with the Basil Hayden.

I'm loving the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Beer- if you can find it on tap, it is terrific. Out of the bottle...not so much. I also recently had another great beer by Innis and Gunn (Scotland) that I liked a lot (out of bottles, go figure)- aged with "rum oak chips".

Season Ticket holder since 2004. Smile

Speaking of finding a new drink, if you happen on a bottle of Orphan Bottle bourbon I'd very much like to know how it tastes. For some reason, the local liquor stores are not stocking this stuff but I have heard some good reviews.

Did you mean Orphan Barrel?????

The first two variants to be released from the company will include the 20-year-old Barterhouse Whiskey and the 26-year-aged Old Blowhard Whiskey. Both of these Bourbons will appearing on select shelves throughout the U.S. in March 2014 under strict allocation due to limited supply
