Uche To Sign With Dallas

#1

Good for him. Quality guy, and I hope he still has something left in the tank for the Cowboys. I sure would've liked to have seen him develop into Meester's replacement, but it was obvious that wasn't ever going to happen.

They will probably pump him for our playbook then send him packing.

We need another Jags player to step up and be the voice of the locker room on this message board.
Only a chump boos the home team!

Uche just doesn't seem like the type of guy to do that, but it wouldn't surprsie me and I wouldn't blame him.

He'll probably play RG and they'll put the rookie Martin at LG.

Because they face us so often that it would make a difference?

I'm thinking they're signing him out of necessity, and not because he might be able to offer some insight on a handful of plays.

Like it would be out of the question for a team to try and gain an advantage over a upcoming opponent? A international game at that?

They tried pumping Mincey but he couldn't remember any of the plays. ..Ba dum tisssss.

So let me get this straight.  They sign a guard in June just so they can ask about the playbook of a team that went 4-12 last season.  They are so concerned about the game that will take place in November that they have to start planning for it right now... in June.

Gotcha.

Yeah, I guess you're right, no team would ever pump a player for their former teams particulars, what the hell could I have been thinking? Glad you straightened me out on my most inconceivable thought process. I just don't know what I would do without folks like you that football with so much skill.

I'm not saying that it doesn't happen.  I'm saying that IF it happens it's not happening in June, 5 months prior to the anticipated game.  Especially a game against a non-divisional/non-conference opponent with a poor record the prior season.

An NFL team would not do that, then "send the player packing" during the dead zone.

I'm fairly confident they wouldn't sign an offensive guard to a contract just to get information about an opponent they'll face once, months from now.  His insight into our offense would be pretty limited.

LOL.....the Jags/ Cowboys game isn't until midseason. By then, some of the things Uche knew won't even be relevant.

You might have had a minor point, had the Jags/ Cowboys game been week one.

They are saying Martin will play RG this year, then slide over to LT to replace Free.  Uche is going to probably be a back up unless he beats out Leary or Bernie.  Good signing, glad to have him.
