Shad's Vision... When the ship yard project is complete in accordance to Jaguar thinking, it'll be another avenue to attract additional revenue to continue upgrades to the city owned stadium...

As much as I will love watching the scoreboards, the shipyard project is much more important to Jacksonville.  It may finally give Jacksonville a cool place to visit in the downtown vicinity.  The only time I go downtown is for the stadium and occasionally the Times Union Center...and when I do that, I typically am in and out.

 

If there is going to be stores, restaurants, and entertainment right on the shipyard it can turn around quickly.

I agree Diesel I really hope it's the Jags that take it on also.  I feels as though Shad is taking a page out of Robert Kraft's book after he bought the Pats.  He did the new stadium but he also developed around the stadium as well.  I can't wait to see what the shipyards will become.

I was actually hoping Khan was going to buy that empty condominium complex downtown and developed that as well. I'm sure it would cost a pretty penny to develop, but would have been a great building on the river once done.

That's just part of doing business. You can say that for any property purchased. You could have said that for the St. John's towncenter. The potential is huge. And it gives me a lot more confidence with Khan involved.

Maybe it's because the only active construction right now is the NEZ?  There's nothing to watch on the other end of the stadium.  All of the external construction is done.

Last I heard there was a developer from Atlanta in talks to buy the unfinished Berkman. That means of course, as we've seen time and time again in this city.
